So I'm guessing Kamen Rider is huge in Japan? Remember it being on local tv towards the end days of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Though is it bigger than Super Sentai in Japan or more under it?

Oh yeah Kamen Rider has been a big thing in Japan for ages. Though apparently it's a bit of a jump on which franchise is bigger in general.
To my knowledge the two apply to slightly different demographics with Kamen Rider going for the older crowds. (AS evidenced by the crazy body counts that'll stack up in some seasons.) Though they're both apparently featured in something called Superhero time or whatever if some of the little trailer things that were in Gaim and a few of the other Kamen Rider series are still accurate.

Kamen Rider is literally the next demographic up from Sentai, so like 2nd graders-ish. I'm not kidding.

Probably because they experienced character growth/development.
