If it worked - Here's what I did:
If you are not the original artist, and you just save a png that is transparent? It might be best if you open it in an art program that allows for transparency, and then resave it. I think there's something that gets mixed up in a file when you save a transparent image.
Example: If I open it in Paint Shop Pro (old program, I know), it'll turn off transparency and just make it look completely black. If I open it in another art program, it will show up as the artist intends it to.
