Just Korra with some brainwashing tentacles. x3

A fetish I kind of like but don't see much of. Very fun if done lightly.

The big hair here is a really good look for Korra.

As someone who love ATLA the sequel Korra is not really that good. The stories are all over the place and not well written for a serial. With ATLA you can feel the flow of beginning, middle, and end in the story telling. The only good thing that came out from Korra is that she's hot enough for rule 34 fodder.

If we compare her to real life actress, Korra is this promising actress with promising TV show only to fizzle later on after she got dragged down by bad writing and when the series ends she simply disappears from spotlight only to reappear later as a washed out artist who ended up doing porn to make money.

TL;DR: Korra is the Lindsay Lohan of the Cartoon world.

As a fan of both show I can't help but understand your point of view but disagree. ATLA has a horrible pacing for most of the seasons with litterally nothing of importance happening. Plus Korra is a far more interesting character with a lot more development than Ang will ever have. The only real problem with Korra imo was the constant fanservice and refs to ATLA that prevented it to be its own thing. But aside from that I found both show equally good. (but for different reasons)

Personally, I feel like Korra had the potential to be what you were talking about, but that the whole thing kind of failed.
My personal theory is that in making the second series the writers were trying to do what JK Rowling did with Harry Potter, but failed. I was never a real fan of Rowling, but what I respected about what she pulled off was that while the books were never exactly great literature, they managed to get a little more complex each time to keep pace with the maturity of their target audience. I always felt like the progression from TLA to LOK was trying to do the same thing by making an older protagonist facing more complex conflicts; but that the writers failed miserably at presenting those more complex themes/characters satisfactorily thanks to a combination of bad writing and network shenanigans.

I don't hate Korra, but I feel like it was a series with a whole lot of missed potential.
