The current Arc is full with people being controlled, almost every female character got controlled, leave only 3 main heroines, gotta say I was in awe for a really long time. I mean yeah, it's like our paradise but from times to times I just keep on getting cringed. Somehow I have found out that too many canon mind controls for a long time really bring down the series, every characters personal traits got stormed continuously without any way to recover them, there's almost no sign of solution being carried away even though we know for sure the heroes will win because of the genre's characteristic. At this rate sooner or later the author will run out of ideas and will have to end the Arc abruptly with some hasty conclusion (because the villains are so strong but none of them can be killed for most are former heroes, if any minor chars are killed while being evil then it will be too harsh for them and the whole series will lose its own traits)
But honestly, the whole mind control Arc shouldn't be there from the start, it was a kid series and even yugioh wouldn't want to do it for 1/4 of the whole story, and the mind control stuff was already scattered around from the very beginning of Teen Arc, there's no need to magnify it any more.

the most recent Arc started in chapter 378: "Children strike back", which is also the Highschool Arc of the story, with the incident of ESPers around Japan suddenly gain tremendous power but lose their sanity, the reason is that they have been infected with phantom virus makes them unable to control their largest desire, thus make their mind shackled allow the phantom to plant suggestion into their mind. the climax started with the incident of madam Fujiko Tsubomi getting infected and start to quake havoc around, following her was the whole BABEL facility getting infected with the Doubleface team, the Wildcat team, the Shadow Children team, Secretary Kashiwagi and the Chief all under the enemy control, even the couple on the left up there also got infected. Sakaki the Doc almost got controlled but he create the vaccine for him fast enough.
also, the current Arc hypnosis mechanism is pretty fucked up, the infected got no idea that they are controlled, they can only believe it was their own decision and was the only way to get what they desired, even when the act was 100% contradict to what they want, so distorted that it was something like this:
"I love her and need to protect her therefore she need to die to do so".
Whenever they realize any contradiction, the virus will kick in and restore the condition, thus keeping them in trance state forever. The vaccine Sakaki created luckily works on him because he was newly infected, it is however only last for a couple of minutes on other puppets.
update the amount of infected people: the carbon controlling guy, the ninja guy and the shadow loli
basically it is less than 10 sane good guys(girls) against double or triple that number (not counted all other BABEL personnel, I believe the guest character from the anime the detective and his loli girl also got controlled) and only 2 or 3 in there are truly bad guys, good luck winning that Children.

At least in Yugioh Arc-V, it was meant to subvert all the tropes people had come to expect regarding mind control in Yugioh (The victim couldn't resist, didn't break when you beat the victim in a card game, extremely creepy)

The anime stopped and change direction to its alternative story quite a long time ago. The Middle school haven just only started and almost all of the mind control stuff was developed after that period. I believe the first wave of hypnosis as I mentioned before have already animated, not that it have any erotic in it in any way, so I wouldn't recommend it, it's mostly go with the flow of Sailor moon's brainwashed bad guys, appear to be bad from the very start, but turn normal after the controlling is lifted, and that's it. All the fun happens after the Children grow over middle school and the anime was put on hiatus right just before that.
