Janet fussed over the little tea cakes on the serving tray. The help truly had no understanding of presentation and representation. This would be the first garden party she has gotten to organize for the Country Club and she wouldn't be made a fool of by the smallest mistake. Not one week prior, Miss Van Dyne wore a shrinking suit and made use of espionage tactics to hunt and attempt the capture of a woman who had been proving troublesome for her team. Finding the Baroness, as the egotist was going by, wasn't very hard... it was only when she got near that the dangers became more apparent. Within a week Miss Van Dyke married her darling fiance... had she known the man that long? Of course... of course she had... and with the marriage came many responsibilities, along with the perks. Her husband ran a very exclusive Country Club, only the elite and wealthy could so much as get in the gates. As her doting wife, it fell to her to manage and run the Club's events. The other wives could be so nasty and pointed, though only when out of earshot... That's why Janet took special care to find dirt on each woman to hold their silence. She would not have a drunken tongue slip a secret and ruin her party.

Though she no longer used the shrinking suit, Mrs. Vanderbelt still had a knack for micromanaging.

I mean, considering what her more well known husband put her through, this guy is a tad better
