It was a strange thing for her to venture out with her crow servants left behind, but honestly at this point Kurama was sick of their screwups. She wanted a husband, blast it all! Between their stupid traditions, dumb luck and the universe itself seeming to be against her, Kurama was having a tougher time of it than someone with her looks ought to be having.

Oh yes, she was definitely having a rough time of it. To think. Back when she took the traditions seriously, she had intended to turn that oaf Moroboshi into an ideal husband. The very idea of it. One could no more sculpt him into the ideal husband than one could spin straw into gold! In any event today she was out on her own. No crow servants to screw things up for her. Despite their protests, Kurama arrived on this rooftop, in public, all by herself.

She looked over the two who had called her out here with a quirked eyebrow, then asked "So? What business does a Lucky God and the Princess of Neptune have with me?"

For indeed that was who was waiting for her. Two women who could not look more unalike in appearance or demeanour. The Lucky God, a black haired tomboy wearing a metal bikini armour. Like all the Lucky Gods, she was a real tough looking sort. Still very pretty, but tough. Next to her was another beauty, but this one far more refined and dignified seeming. She was clad in long robes that covered her body from neck to toe.

"Hey, relax!" the Lucky God said, cockily grinning at Kurama while giving her the once over. "We're friends with Lum. I'm Benten, this is Oyuki."

"That is not giving me cause to relax," Kurama coldly answered. Lum. Ooh, that pest! She kept on interfering in Kurama's search for a husband, usually because she knew whoever Kurama was chasing at that time.

Oyuki politely interjected, showing a good deal more grace than her friend. "What Benten means is that we have heard of your difficulties."

"Yeah, you're having trouble attracting a decent guy. Right?"

It was pretty clear to Kurama how this double act worked by now. Oyuki was the one with social grace, while Benten was the tough chick who was used to being more straightforward. Kurama inspected her nails and barely hid her disdain for how Benten was talking about her.

"So what if I am?" she asked. "It's only a matter of time and patience."

"Or we could teach you a foolproof method to find him."

A foolproof method? Kurama had heard of such things before. It usually turned out that they were 'foolproof' because they had been developed by 'fools' in the first place. The two of them approached on either side of her, Oyuki letting her robes slip to the ground. And then, for reasons beyond her, the two of them began to dance.

"It's called the 'dance of the perfect mate'," Benten claimed.

"That's right," Oyuki added, giving a quick whirl in place around Kurama as she spoke. "Perform this dance for any man you desire and he shall be yours."

This was... highly suspicious. Kurama's eyes narrowed at the sight of the Princess of Neptune shaking her ass like it was a salt shaker. Such a ridiculously suggestive dance! "Hrmph, as if I'm desperate enough to try something so gaudy."

Gaudy, but also something else. Something that tickled at Kurama's instincts. She turned away from Oyuki, feeling as though it wasn't safe to watch her for any stretch of time. Unfortunately this drew her viewpoint right onto Benten, who was running her hands in a tight circular motion around her waistline. Her fit, trim waistline.

"Yeah, that's what we thought," Benten said. Kurama snapped out of.. whatever that was, and turned her head away. This time finding herself looking directly at Oyuki's thrusting chest.

"Until we tried the dance ourselves we didn't think it would work," the silver haired beauty remarked.

This dance... It was strange but Kurama couldn't help but sit down. She was a little surprised to find a chair placed behind her already, but soon enough realised what must have happened. While she had been watching one of the girls, the other had gone off to get a chair. although, wait. Didn't that mean she'd been watching them for quite a while, probably? It didn't feel that long in between changing her viewpoint.

Also, was it her imagination or were the two of them wearing different clothing to what they had started with? Oyuki swished her arm over Kurama's head, and the silk attachment brushed up against her hair. Benten repeated the gesture with her other arm, and the two of them locked hands over Kurama's head before whirling around into one another's embrace.

Dance... Of the perfect mate... Yes... Yes, of course! Now Kurama was starting to understand! There was a pen and notebook lying at her feet, and she quickly scooped them up. This revelation, this epiphany! It was too good to ignore!

"Yes, I think I see it now!" Kurama excitedly remarked, scribbling notes in the book while watching the two of them performing before her. "The precise motions of your body -"

"Naturally guide the eye across our sexy bodies," Benten interrupted. "Yeah, we know."

"The unwary watcher is ensnared before they know it," Oyuki added. Benten dipped her, and Oyuki lifted her long and elegant leg up into the air, then hooked it around Benten's waist. So elegant! So sensual! Ah, now their faces were moving closer to one another as though they were about to kiss- but then they stopped, pulled apart and resumed the dance. The endless dance that flowed like a dream.

"Then the dance begins to influence the watcher's thinking process," Kurama continued. Her words slurred a little at this point.

"It's so subtle they barely notice," Oyuki said.

"Until it's too late for them to fight back," Benten concluded.

Kurama nodded in final understanding. "Yes, I can use this! I'll use it to make Ataru into my perfect mate!"

The thought of using this dance on Ataru had come to her so naturally that she didn't even question it. That was simply what the dance was meant for. Of course it was. It was always meant for Ataru Moroboshi.

"Heh..." Benten chuckled, flashing Kurama that same cocky grin as before. "It's more like the dance is making you into his perfect mate."

"Just like the rest of us," Oyuki finished.

Kurama couldn't hold herself still any more. She had finished taking her notes. Her eyes darted across the paper, taking it all in. The notes on position and timing, the asides instructing her to 'dance for darling' scribbled all over the pages. Yes, that was it. Of course it was. It all made sense to her now. Everything that had been happening to her ever since that fateful day he awoke her with a kiss - that was not the universe being cruel or unkind. It was the universe setting her up for her destiny.

"I've been a fool to give up on tradition!" Kurama exclaimed, leaping to her feet and beginning her own immitation of this wonderful, glorious dance. Ah, but she was still too clumsy. Fortunately her two harem sisters were able to break off their own dance, coming up once again on either side of her to guide her into this new life.

"But now your eyes are open," Oyuki said, gently guiding Kurama's legs into the right position and letting her hand linger upon her thighs.

"As Ataru was the one to wake me, I should have stuck with him!" She said it with the same tone as one observing that Earth's sky was blue or that water was wet. It was such an obvious truth that nobody should question it.

"Even a tough chick like me gets it," Benten snorted a laugh. The tough chick kept one hand on Kurama's shoulder and another in the small of her back, nudging her in just the right way to get her body gyrating in the suggestive, hypnotic manner that the dance demanded.

"Thanks to this dance I fully understand what I must do!" Kurama sighed. The two girls stepped aside. No longer needing to guide her. The dance had entered her mind and body. With their simple guidance they had all taken it in. They knew what to do. The three of them danced in unison, standing in a line next to each other. Each of them imagining that he was there, watching and approving. The pleasure from that idea alone was enough for them to say the same thing at once with nigh-orgasmic relief.

"Dance for Darling!"
