very nice. you know, I kinda liked it a little better when we didn't know Karai was Splinter's daughter. Leo had a huge crush on her. and it didn't immediantly go away even when they found out.

Karai being related to Splinter is an element that as never appeared in other continuity, and to me comes off as a weird and pointless retcon.

I think Pinkie means it as a franchise change not the 2012 series change.
Personally, I liked as it showed just how devious and evil Shredder was as to take his rival's daughter and raise her as his own.
Ditto. Made it much more dramatic. Not to mention Splinter being human instead of a pet rat whose master was killed. Plus April and Casey were teenagers.

Actually PInkie, Splinter never died in the other TMNT series. This was the first time that actually happened when Splinter fought Super Shredder in season four. Next Episode, Shredder is beheaded by Leo during the final battle and in the beginning of Season 5, we get Zombie Super Shredder resurrected from the dead by Kavaxis, a demodragon played by Mark Hamil.
Like I said before. I did not see any episodes after the beheading. but considering watching online.

As far as season 5 went, it wasn't bad. Each story arch was well done, but it just felt that season 4 was meant to the the finale, Nick renewed it for a 5th season then somewhere during the production they said. "Okay guys, this is your last season, only twenty episodes so...don't make it too complicated. Personally, my favorite arch from season 5 is when the Turtles are fighting the classic Universal Monsters Dracua, The Wolf Man, Frankenstinen's Monster and The Mummy.
