I considered putting in a bit where she made him eat a raw fish, but it felt too unwieldy and off topic.... at least in my head-canon, she feeds the slaves raw fish and uses the lights just for mind control

so im guessing they take the males to breed more of their race but why the girl ? so that she can give birth to human slaves or to be used by male fish if they are some ?

yeah, something along those lines was my head-canon - I also don't imagine the fish monster as more sophisticated than a he-man villain, so I figure that her plans might also not be the best in the long term

I am curious but terrified to wonder if any of the common anglers mating practices survived the hybridiation process.. Wherein the males attaches to the female form... Slowly being absorbed till all that is left is a set of testes the female can use when she desires...
