I'm kinda trying to keep my distance from it at this point. I'd feel kinda weird about trying to follow the story with the prefix of this and the other one I did.

The good news is that it's just about the easiest series in the world to get caught up on. The first season is like 10-12 eps which range from 4-7 minutes apiece, while the following seasons cap at 15-min eps. Plus it's super easy viewing, and the second half of S3 easily makes up for any narrative / dramatic shortcomings up until that point. I haven't watched anything past S4, but I doubt the format has changed radically.
