I don't remember how the anime end, but wasn't it a somewhat good ending, unlike the manga?

It ends with the dude remembering but for some stupid nonsensical twist they delete her memories about her family and being a vamp so she can 'be a real teenager'. I mean that's bitter as hell because you just ask, "why"? Could've left her alone and it'd have been way happier as opposed to neutral
