At least this doesn't have a giant watermark over the entire image. Because it's so vital to protect the intellectual property rights of unmonetizable fan art of copyrighted characters.

However, DA needs also to be blamed, since watermarking stuff there is a matter of a click on a checkmark.

I thought the mark is put on there automatically by DA when you upload there.

he has tried selling comics with the Pokemon girls in them before if I recall right

so, monetizable, just not in the long term before the lawyers come calling

Watermarking is optional on DA. You have to check a box in the submission form.

But, getting full images with shitty watermarks is still at least better than getting a half image with the other half covered by "Pledge $5 on Patreon to see the rest durr." That shit doesn't make me want to give you money, it just makes me hate you and want to unfollow you everywhere.

I've seen an even demotivating example of those pledge-begging-pics: the "regions of interest" of the image is covered with Patreon logos, like post #78889
