The best part about this picture is how easily it would actually have been to pull this off in the series.

All he needed to do was slap that dark ring he was using to spy on Davis and Tai in the first episode onto Gatomon. It's been proven multiple times that Gatomon could hold her own against the entire original Digidestined team in their champion forms. With her under his control, he would have then easily captured Davis, Tai, and Agumon. Davis would never have awakened Veemon, and Yolee and Cody would never have gotten their Digivices. The war would have been over before it could even begin.
