Ya know, I might've liked Gundam Seed better if it did try to be more like Macross instead of OG Gundam, and that's odd because I didn't like Macross.

Well the biggest problem is OG Gundam was a parrell of WWII, in that the one family that seized power in Zeon was pretty much space Nazis. Instead of doing that, they decided to ACTUALLY make the Zaft people genetically superior and it's a much less interesting tale that way.

I feel that the biggest problem is that OG Gundam isn't very good to begin with, and actually most Gundam entries are pretty badly written when they tackle the franchise's central conceit of "WAR VERY BAD" head on. Seed did itself no extra favors by adding on bad characters to its bad writing.
