They may have been a bitch to have to rewind, but I kind of miss VHS; at least the tapes couldn't get scratched like DVDs

Instead the tapes would get twisted up or get pulled out of the case. And time would degrade the tapes.

@MSXTape Some cassette tapes use contact-toxic powders in the tape's coating, and from two days of trolling through multiple pages of Google search results there seems to be no reliable way of differentiating the ones that will poison you from the ones that won't.
