Commission for Chainedknee on DeviantArt. who wanted the Miraculous Ladybug hypnotized and transformed into a carousel horse... well, carousel CENTAUR, really. I haven't seen TOO much of the cartoon, but from what I HAVE seen there's enough weird transformations and mind control that things like this wouldn't be out of place. Even though Ladybug herself probably wouldn't be the victim since she's always the one who saves everyone else.

Six. Though I don't know who actually pays for it.

It could be, I suppose...

I'd actually like to see Ladybug be the one to get brainwashed by an Akuma in one episode or at least incapacitated to the point of not being able to use her powers. It would be interesting to see what would happen if the usual way of fixing things wasn't an option.

I totally agree. The fandom, as I've seen it, seems to be on a pretty big "poor Marinette, her life sucks and everyone is mean to her" high, but... it's possible I just haven't watched enough of the show and things change drastically in season three, but in the eps I watched it's been very consistent that she kinda just breezes through things, is pretty universally beloved and usually ends up in the right, all fights just kind of go her way and she's usually the only one who saves the day with everyone else playing a supporting role at best and useless tagalongs at worst.

I think the show kind of wrote itself into a corner with the idea that Ladybug was the only one who could defeat and purify the Akumas, and then make it so the Akumas are the only threat in this world. It means Ladybug CAN'T get incapacitated or taken out because that means the bad guy automatically wins. And so, in order to at least pretend there's some actual tension going on here, it's everyone ELSE who gets taken down, incapacitated, brainwashed, transformed or whatever...

It's especially blatant with Cat Noir, who can't go more than a couple of episodes without being defeated, tied up, hypnotized or otherwise incapacitated. They're supposed to be partners and equals, but it couldn't be more obvious that he can't do anything without her, while she manages just fine without him. I'm fine with the female hero being the more competent one, but at times it seems like Ladybug is the only person in the world who can actually get ANYTHING done... I do wish that the show could let the other characters shine a little more without having everything stand and fall with Ladybug every single time.

Okay, that was ranty. Sorry about that. ^_^*

This reminds me of an issue of Marvel's original New Mutants comic (the second annual), where Psylocke mind controlled most of the New Mutants team and when ever they became part of "her mind", they appeared as smiling centaur horses on a carousel. I'd be willing to bet that's exactly where this idea came from.

You're quite right, that's a big inspiration. The person who commissioned me even linked me a couple of scans from the pages of what I assume to be that comic.
