The voice wasn't always there, she was sure of it, but now it was impossible. It whispered constantly about all the things it wanted her to do. Men and women would desire her, give her whatever she wanted, she could have any and everything she wanted if she only listened to the voice. Agreed to it. Embraced it. But she couldn't, she wouldn't. Whatever the voice was, it couldn't be listened to, it was evil. Cynthia needed to resist, needed to fight. The strain of ignoring was making her dizzy, she needed to sit down.

I kinda imagine the voice to be the leftovers in her mimd from her actual hypnosis o: like the obedient hypnoslave still lingers in her mind even after she woke uo and tried to pull her back.
But it does seem a lot more like possession or inner darkness
