Isn't there canonical mind control too? Like Gideon literally controls Ramona with a microchip on the back of her neck, at least in the movie.

In the comics I think he literally held a part of her subconscious as a slave, complete with sexy attire and leash tied to his throne, and Scott had to beat him and set her free.
