sylvia "Margaret, can you respond?"
margaret "Yes."
I had to answer the same way I had to breathe.
sylvia "I want you to tell me if you're okay with me hypnotizing you again. I won't do anything more if you say no. Do you understand that?"
margaret "I do."
sylvia "That's good. Do you want me to hypnotize you again? You have to be completely honest with me."
Her tone made me sit with the question. I stood there, holding my answer in my hands, feeling the weight of it, before I offered it.
margaret "I do."
Sylvia smiled and I saw her two canine teeth extend down.
They narrowed and grew in perfect symmetry until both were pair of fangs.
It only enraptured me more.
sylvia "Okay, I'm going to try and remember the little bit I've read about hypnotism, but I'm mostly going to play it by ear. Do you trust me to do my best to help you?"
margaret "I do."
The idea she could think otherwise made my heart ache.
