Well, as for me, facehuggers almost look like they have testicles on the outside and vagina in the inside.

Considering that the Xenomorphs require the body of another species for reproductive purposes, one might consider their canonical modus operandi to be very inefficient. I would like to believe that in addition to their newly developed proclivity for mental control, the facehuggers in this image have evolved so as to preserve their chosen host's life, allowing multiple births from a single host rather than only one.

Fair enough. I too can see the immediate loss of consciousness as an alluring feature. Though, to be technically accurate, the canonical facehugger uses a transdermal sedative to subdue the host rather than pumping a sedative gas down the throat.
