I personally would consider this as sort of a spin-off, since she's in the a role of a spy/intruder. This is basically a heist she botched in the end :D
Anyways, the artist and me thought of something, that her getaway failed because of a neural disrupting light the museum installed before. She activated it while she was about to escape with a rappelling rope and well, it put her into a trance which is why she let go of the rope and now she's hypnotized while being tangled up in her rappelling rope and dangling over the museum floor and yeah, obviously she lost her other shoe during that 'accident'. I hope that explains it good enough ^^
