Kairi is a Princess of Heart. The Princesses of Heart are unique in the sense their hearts are the 7 pure lights that were once a part of the X-Blade. As a result they have no Darkness within them, and are untouchable by it's corrupting influence. A prime example of this, which incidentally involves Kairi, is in the beginning of the first Game. Darkness attempts to take Kairi's Heart, and instead of becoming a Heartless it flees her body and hides inside of Sora.

I know that, I just remember the line by Ansem Seeker of Darkness (I think?) about that.
