Poll Winner: Have a talk with the Satyr
----------------------------

Written by Tarsi

After careful consideration, and still weighed down with the guilt of leaving a friend to their fate, you decide to take all the help you can get. The satyress seems like a very kind soul, so kind in fact that you are sure she would never mean you or anyone else any harm at all. There is something in her very movement that seems gentle and caring, though this is interspersed with the nature of her body, that seems to tempt greater pleasures and wild primal delight.

Her unclothed body, combined with her animistic features seems to whisper sweet promises in your ear with each passing moment. Still, it’s not like other creatures you have met. You're not being seduced with magic at all, but rather the simple fact of her nature. She smiles at you and immediately you feel like everything will be alright. Somehow she just knows exactly what she needs to do at every specific moment. There is no forceful lust or powerful emotions, just a feeling of closeness, empathy, trust.

Melanie just barely holds herself together during your initial conversation, but as you agree to rest and talk she seems much less controlled. Intermittently you catch the sight of tears escaping her eyes, her head filled with knowledge that her sister is currently being used to feed the desires of a monster. The Satyress does not say a word to her. So does not lead in with pleasantries or attempts at rational argument. She ignores any effort at all to assuage her guilt or sorrow. Instead the calm and tender Satyress simply steps forward and embraces Melanie in a hug.

The girl loses all control in that moment, her restraint broken and her will to resist tears gone completely. She sobs uncontrollably as she buries her head into the shoulder of your new friend. “There there dear.” She says in a relaxing melodic voice, the natural voice of a singer. “I know it hurts. There's nothing at all wrong with that. You need to cry, it’s OK to let it all lout. You're trying to be strong and hold it all in, but that’s not what you need to do. It’s OK to cry sometimes.” Melanie continues sobbing, letting her thoughts and emotions run freely. With each sob, each tear running down her cheek she becomes less sad and more calm.

All this time you simply stand and watch the display of compassion with a heavy heart. Your own sorrow over the way things have gone distracting you from the faint sound of lovely flute music all around you. You wish you could have comforted Melanie in the same way. You wish you could have saved her sister.

All the while you don’t pay any attention to Valerie, now wearing the same smiling face and happy gauze as so many others on the island. The part fey girl was now looking at the display in a new light. Some part of her knew something was wrong, but it simply did not matter. She recognized the work of fey magic when she saw it, but was also much more connected to nature, her own form making her highly susceptible to it. As she watched what she knew was the start of a transformation, she could only smile and wait. She agreed completely and unquestionably with the Satyress methods. It was such a good idea.

You don't notice it at first. But it really does not end up mattering. By the time it starts to dawn on you what is happening it's already far too late. Her methods are so subtle that you never noticed what was happening until it actually began in earnest. The first sign was when Melanie let out a tiny giggle. It seemed odd at first, but you wrote it off. What happened next could not be. Melanie opened her eyes to reveal a startling change. She now had a deep golden glow emanating from them, but most disturbing of all was how she looked, simpler... It was as though all the complex and worrying thoughts were gone, replaced only by simple instinctual feelings.

For Melanie the change was so subtle she never noticed it. With each tear she expelled more and more of her mind. Initially just her sorrows, her worries, but eventually everything that made her a human was allowed to freely flow out as the fey magic flowed into her body. It hollowed out her mind, removed all her memories, leaving an empty brain and a body ready to join the forest and her soon to be fey sisters.

Her giggle was the start of this, a free spirited desire to frolic and play filling her. Soon she was little more than a intelligent, yet instinct driven, animal. She could speak, but only felt the need to relate simple ideas like the desire to play, or her lust for something. She could think, but only wanted to think about the immediate moment and the joy of nature around her. She could worry, but only cared to worry about how far away the next drunken satyr might be and how long she would need to wait for him to find her and her lusty sister nymphs. Melanie was gone, in her place was a flawless nymph.

The Satyress turned to you and explained what she had done, but you could barely listen as you watched Melanie’s skin change, every blemish and imperfection disappearing, leaving her utterly flawless and at the same time inherently wrong in every way. The girl did little more than playfully hug the Satyress as she explained to you how you were going to need her help from now on. With Melanie gone, only the Satyress knew how to get to the witch doctor, her knowledge of the area seemingly in tune with everything in the jungle. With no other way to proceed your trudge forward, hopeful that the witch doctor can at the very least help you.

Maybe I'm a cynical bastard but I don't trust her, not a bit. Way too sweet and innocent.

Her diplomacy is through the roof, so I'm inclined to talk. She also has navigation, which we just lost.It seems really foolish to ignore a chance to get that back or maybe pick up a replacement at worst

Sorry, Melanie... but if we go back, we're done for. We'll take her back as soon as we have the potion. Let's talk. Not everyone is evil on this island.

Nobody gets left behind. We have a chance to go back for her, I really think we should take it.

I'm kinda annoy with how the last one went down. I thought we would actually fight the drider. Instead we just sort of clumsily run past her and fall down a hole and then Mylani, who some wanted to sacrifice, gets captured anyway. so I vote to go back and save her.
