Usage of drawing tablet
Heyo again.

So, quick question: I'm currently planning to buy a drawing table to enhance my creations (primarily to create rough sketches and\or make masks on Krita): For those who use a digital drawing tablet for their creations, do you think there's a massive difference for a newbie in using one with vs one without a screen directly on the tablet itself? Is learning to use it without a direct reference close to my pen more challenging?

Also got some recommendations for me to check it out? I'm currently looking for a secondhand one, but if there's something decent new, I'll still give it a look nonetheless.

Thanks for your feedback

You have a number of options, actually.
Pad tablets are ABSOLUTELY cheaper, no question. iirc, you can find 'em for about 100 bucks a pop, if not cheaper.
However, if you have the funds, throw the 400cad down for a huion kamvas 13. a screen DOES make things easier. Plus, having an extra actual monitor is good too. lol.

Also, another option would be a Samsung Galaxy S6. It's about the same price, android and COMES with the pen. So no extra cost to get it unlike the shitty fruit brand. Plus, Android so a lot more versatile, and expandable storage.... etc. However, I wouldn't recommend going mobile unless you know the art program you wanna use. (I use CSP, and that DOES have a mobile version, but others may not.)

Thanks: need to check If they are Linux compatible (hello, owner of an AMD Gpu, uuurgh), but it's a great starting point nontheless.

If not, the go android. Literally, it's a tablet that comes with a pen to give you pressure. It's awesome =D

I find that not having the screen forced me to improve my hand-eye coordination which helped me in the long run art wise, but it DEFINITELY came with a higher learning curve.
