Either way it's not a big deal, just thought I'd better tell staff about it.

During the last bot attack I did suggest putting a captcha on account creation as well as comments, not sure if its worth implementing now. I know people aren't a big fan of capthca's but on account creation its a 1 time inconvenience (which "humans" are more capable of dealing with)

So, currently many pages are breaking and those that don't will redirect to a different forum. I'm assuming the mods are already doing what I've been doing and applying tag script to remove that tag that seems to be doing the redirecting?

After seeing hundreds of bots pop up in one day, this is definitely a good idea.

Fun fact: there were over 337 PAGES of bot accounts made when I checked. There are 20 users listed on a page. That's over 6,740 bot accounts.

I checked out the profile of the user who posted all that spam, and it appears they just joined today and are being suspended for... one day.

Are we sure that's an appropriate punishment? I dunno, it feels like it's pretty lenient.

Cause it's not meant to be a punishment. Some users coming in don't know about certain rules here, so we try to be fairly lenient when it comes to those ones in particular.

So unless they're spamming shitposts or something illegal, it's typically not that big a deal. if they continue afterward, we then make sure to make the days much longer, if not permanent.
