Game Awards Announcements, Anyone?
So the game awards just uh... awarded some games or whatever. Deathloop got WAY too much love for what it is but like... eh. I wasn't really overly "for" any of the presented games.

And It Takes Two winning is NUTTY.

But it ALSO advertised some.

Honestly I didn't feel one way or the other about a lot of the announcements, but here's my general thoughts.

The Good

- I'm cautiously optimistic about the Open World Sonic game

- Cuphead DLC is cool

- Also cautiously optimistic about that Gollum game.

- Elden Ring. Still awesome. Still want it. Gimme.

The Bad

- P4AU port... Honestly, I feel kinda whatever about this. But it all but confirms we aren't getting a P5 Arena, meaning that if we get another P5 spinoff, it'll be like... a board game or some shit. Super Persona 5 Party. And that sounds like poopy.

- Saints Row 1.5... I was honestly kinda vibing with it at first but now uhh... it looks too much like Saints 3 to me and I suddenly don't care.

- That Suicide Squad game gives me real Marvel's Avengers vibes which scares me.

- Jeff Goldblum now works for Raid Shadow Legends. I am scared. They have too much power.

But honestly overall I.. kinda felt it was mid.

What about all of you HypnoHubbers? What did you all think?

Elden ring is a high on my list
Saints row i don't have that much of an opinion cause i've only played the third and from what a friend of mine told me who has played all the games the series use to be way different

i never liked Suicide squad

Imagine what other celeb shadow legends could get.

Didn't even realize there was an award show, lol.

The show was....eh for me. Geoff kinda hyped up the reveals a bit too much cuz I don't think there was anything earth shattering.

If the Persona 4 Ultimax port has rollback then that's awesome but they haven't said anything so I assume the worst. Also Atlus continues to release spinoffs on Switch but no mainline entires which makes no sense.

Star Wars: Eclipse seemed interesting until I saw Quantic Dream working on it. So that's a hard pass.

I think the new Saints Row looks fun but I'm a casual fan who didn't play the earlier ones so take that for what it's worth.

I would LIKE Sonic Frontiers to be good but I just can't trust Sega anymore. The movie trailer was nice though?

As for the awards, I'm glad Maggie Robertson won for best performance, It Takes Two sweeping a lot of categories is a surprise, Metroid Dread got best action/adventure and Guilty Gear Strive got best fighting game so I'll take it. Shame Psychonauts 2 kinda got shafted though.

I think the reason for that is licensing stuff. I'm not sure why they didn't do P4G since it got a PC Port (though Atlus has promised like 15 more announcements over the next year or so, so we might get it), but from what I understand something like P5 not getting it is because they still have an exclusivity deal with Sony. But that doesn't extend to things like P5S since that's a "new" IP.

My heart wanted Psychonauts to win but I knew it wasn't gonna happen.

Also, I suck at fighting games (though I still love them. They're my "I need to relax" game). But I voted for Melty Blood because it was the only one I had played.

This is an unrelated tangent, but apparently the Suicide Squad game will feature Brainiac brainwashing the Justice League (though, from what I've read, not Wonder Woman, which is a crime)? It'd be cool if we had some scenes in it.

I thought the Sonic 2 trailer was awesome! Though Knuckles now sounds like he's much older than Sonic... Still, better than Dan Green at least.

Slitterhead stood out among all the headaches that I got from the awards show this year. A game made by the director of Silent Hill and covered by an independent dev team he helped to found, sporting body horror and looking like an actual game...

Got a bit of The Evil Within vibes from it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This and that metroidvania with the chibi Death were the only things I can say I'm really looking forward to that came out of this. I feel like I'm done with the western gaming industry, specifically triple-A titles. Going to stick with indie and Japanese-developed games for the foreseeable future.

"This story is a monster. And monsters wear many faces."

My boy Alan Wake is finally back bitches. About fucking time. And the new Hellblade footage looks INCREDIBLE. Couldn't get over how smooth it looks.

Do it again and if you can, American Nightmare + CONTROL. Those two games have been laying the ground work for what we will see in this.
