Video thumbnails

Seeing some folks bring it up and I agree - all black thumbnails are bad and will make videos virtually indistinguishable. Anyone got ideas to fix this? I personally think it'd be relatively easy to grab the thumbnail still from farther along in the video instead of frame 1, as an easy fix.

I don't think we have any control over that.

The new site is closed source so, unless thumbnail customization is built into the new software as a utility, there is nothing we can do.

Not much that can be done on the software side of things. I think the best option we have is for everyone to just add a title card to the start of their videos going forward.

The reason for first frames is that at the moment if you try to grab a frame further down and it doesn't exist because its a small loop video then the conversion fails and crashes. Preferably we'd have those as a sort of moving PNG or gif so it shows multiple frames for a video when you scroll over it. Very porn like oh yes. Its a WIP

At least that shouldn't require spaghetti code.
