Corrupted/Broken Images
On the Site Migration Status / Bugs thread, Slayerduck said:
35% of samples/thumbnails failed to generate. any broken image needs to be deleted as original image may be corrupted.

What's the best way to go about fixing these? Mindwipe said in hypnohub.net/index.php?pa...05887&pid=150#1205063 that:
Just a heads up that there appears to be no way on this new software for mods to transfer votes/favorites to new images like there was on the old site. For that reason, I unflagged several old animated gif images that have had higher resolution videos uploaded, since I don't want to just wipe them from people's favorites with no warning. From now on, everyone will have to refavorite images if they get replaced down the line (unless a function to transfer votes is implemented.)

When I tried to upload a new post of a broken/corrupted image (that wasn't yet deleted), it wouldn't let me, saying the image already exists. This means the corrupted images' posts need to be deleted before they can be reuploaded. However, since we can't see deleted images, we need some way to know which deleted ones to reupload.

The best solution I can think of is to have some document that is accessible to all users (inside or outside this site) that keeps track of corrupted posts that are flagged for deletion so that when they are deleted, someone can reupload it. If the old Hub is still up, we can get the tags and source URL from the posting there, so all we should need is the post ID.
This doesn't solve the issue of people's votes/favorites being erased, though.

Does anyone else have suggestions for how to go about this?

For clarification, the broken images were already broken before the move. The migration didn't cause it, i don't know why the old software caused it to either corrupt data or store corrupted data. Mods can just soft delete them and then we'll perm delete them later.

Deleting an image causes its MD5 to be banned, so this won't work even if the image is deleted.

Ah. Well, I appreciate your reply. It sucks we'll never be able to have these images on here again, especially when there are so many, and for no reason that we know of. Should we flag these for deletion when we run across them or can you delete them all at once?
