Parent/Child Posts
Can someone explain to me how they work on this site? I uploaded some comic comissions last night, set them all to be 'childs' of the first post, and now the little 'pool' that they should all be under only contains two of them, and if I look in those two they're in there own little pool with some random other image.

And I can't figure out how to reparent them to the original image, because it doesn't save any changes for them. Can someone explain this to me cause I dont' see it under any other forum posts.

If you are uploading a sequence of images, I'd recommend using the actual pool function since that's what it is used for.
I don't recommend using the parent/child function as pools since they are hidden in the main page (unless you are uploading a ton of pages, like 10+).

If you were to insist on making a "pool" by parenting all subsequent posts to a parent post then you can assign or edit the parent postID in the edit menu.

To remove a parentID from a post, you replace the parent postID with 0.

Your problem was that each subsequent pages are marked to be children of its previous page, and so the first page only has one child - the second page. I've reparented all posts to be childs of the first page for you. If you want them to show up in the main page then you can remove the parent from the children posts.

I've also made a pool of those posts, since the userscript can make use of it.

How'd you find the pool option? I couldn't find the damn thing when I tried it.

Go to pools from the top nav bar, there is a "new" button that allows you to make a new pool.

After making the new pool, you can either use the import option (under the nav bar) to add posts to the pool, or you can add to pools using a post's edit menu.

To add a post to the pool using the import option, you search for the tags that identifies the posts. Clicking import adds all posts with those tags to the pool, so remove any irrelevant posts using delete mode. To add a single post, use that post's ID and put id:###### into the tag search bar and import it.

To add a post to the pool using a post's edit menu, add pool:#### with ### being the pool's id into the tags field and enter.

PS the reverse button when ordering the posts in the pool doesn't work.

Thanks, I'm still new here, and this helps answer my questions. (Though I suspect some of this was different in the old version of the site?)

Well, are there still cases now when parent/child is preferable instead of a pool?

Well if you have only a few posts that are just different edits of an image (eg comic without sfx or text, pic with and without cum, some minor expression or colour changes), such that it doesn't seem like a pool is needed, then you can use parent/child.

If you wanted to hide some posts from the main page on purpose you can also you the parent/child feature.

People who wants to see those images can still see them by putting only * in the tag search.

as a note, if you have problems importing to the pool.
Add a custom tag, then search for that tag on import, once all the pictures are on the pool prooced to delete the tag.

That's why if I look for "sakura futaba" the pool will try to import all the sakura futaba pics at the same time and that's annoying xD.

Speaking of pools. On the old site you could just click previous and next within the pool. Is there a way to do that now? So far the only way that works is by clicking next in the related posts section but as soon as it exits the pool it’s useless

There are currently no official way to do that.

Unofficially, there's the userscript which does what you want hypnohub.net/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=105958
