What is the general level of hypnosis literacy in this community?
Just something I am curious about. I've been into hypnosis for a long time, but I'm only now doing actual research into the topic. I am wondering what percentage of the community have read any books, taken any courses, have hypnotized people or have been hypnotized, or if it's purely a fantasy level interest for most people. Curious how I fit in considering my experience level.

Purely fantasy for me. I've heard hypnosis can be real and certain techniques can make people do things, but I've never pursued actual knowledge of hypnosis. My only interest is complete control, not suggestions or swaying somebody one way or the other. If actual control was known to exist, I would 100% be pursuing some form of it for, admittedly, less than noble reasons. Which is why it's a good thing it doesn't (To our knowledge at least) exist.

I can certainly understand that perspective. For me I think it's two distinct categories that happen to intertwine. I enjoy the fantasy of complete control, but also am intrigued by the psychology of its real world counterpart. I agree that the hypnosis from the fantasy is completely different from any possible hypnosis in reality, but I enjoy both aspects.

I've watched countless hypnosis recordings, and also let some people play around with my triggers. Obviously real hypnosis isn't the same as a mind control fantasy, but I still love it. It's also super relaxing. When I'm in trance, my anxiety basically disappears completely.

I have actively studied real hypnosis since 2008, and practice it regularly with my GF and long-term subject. I know there are other actual hypnotists on the site, and quite a few actual subs as well. But I believe the majority of folks here are simply kinksters, fetishists, and people with related fantasies.

That's cool! If I may ask, is there any advice you would give to someone looking to learn? I've been reading some recommended books, and it's really interesting stuff. Hoping to be able to help others achieve the state successfully as well, though I know it will take time and dedication.

Feel free to PM me. I've helped a few others get started before, and I'm sure I could pass along the same explanations and info to you, too.
