Looking For Help Getting Started With AI Art
So I'm interested in making AI art but I don't know how to start at all.

I was trying to use Novel AI for image generation but they won't even let me sign up with a paying account for some reason. The screen just keeps loading and not changing no matter how much time passes.

If anyone could DM me some tips or something (Assuming this is all a big secret for some reason.) then I'd greatly appreciate it.

If this thread goes against site rules or is causing trouble somehow then I understand. Feel free to delete it.

Personally, as someone who can't afford to commission and lacks good artistic talent, I'd love some tips myself.

That's weird: I never had any sort of trouble. Dumb question but do you think it might be because you use stuff like ghostery, uBlock etc ... ?

No, my AdBlock is off for that site, and still nothing.

My advice to starting AI art would be don't.

You can try the A1111 webui, it lets you generate images locally on your own machine assuming you have a decent GPU (at least 8gb nvidia)

Tutorial for install here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cvP7yJotUM

And you download all the nsfw models from civitai.com, there is some hypno stuff on there, not none really that im super into

Im able to push out stuff like this on a whim: i.imgur.com/OJbkU2I.png

I also was going to politely echo Mindwipe's statement, but since you wanted to be a jackass, I'll impolitely echo Mindwipe's statement.

Assuming Lilly is a responsible person who would use bots as a part of the creation process (not as a *replacement* for the process) there's still no guarantee that the bot they'd be using would be equally responsible. Plagiarism is not art, and even manippers know to credit the original sources of their work. Until you can show me a botnet that has properly credited or (even better) paid the artists that make up its database, the entire concept can get in the bin.

If you do have the need to be creative, there are plenty of asset-based art programs that would allow you to build stuff quickly. Even things that get thrown out as "low effort" like Kisekae should be able to scratch the itch quickly.

I apologize for causing a stir. In truth, I guess I was drawn to the potential convenience without thinking of the implications. (As a JRPG player I feel ashamed. Most of the game plots are about what happens when technology is used carelessly. lol)

I won't pursue AI art anymore. I'll take the words of Mindwipe and Sir_Lurksalot as well meaning council. My art is already on its way so I certainly wasn't going to give up on it. I just have to find a way to get better and produce faster for myself and any fans I might get in the future.

Thanks to both of you for your honest input on this issue. Mods can feel free to lock this thread or delete it.

frankly i think that is also fine, i like both things i just get really angry when people shit on ai art as if the other option is the objective superior one and ai art is an abomination that must be witch hunted shamed and abolished
these people represent the worse kind of artist there is, and is part of the reason why i don't like online artists and their fandom and think they are jerks

You must to understand too why we tend to be scared about that situation. Right now I don't see a real danger, but eventually IA will make the artist's work harder.

People attacking IA aren't doing it just "to be jerks", and mostly because the situation tend to be a bit drepressing.

I'm quite neutral and could be fine on certain scenarios like saving references for pose of character designs, but I would lie if I say I'm not scared about the future.

Historically, the primary tactics of "disruptors" have been to monopolize the industry they are disrupting through attrition, and then manipulating production to ensure that workers get paid as little as possible and customers pay as much as possible for next-to-no product.

Art bots are following that same path, to the point that I think saying there's use or even calling it AI shifts the focus away from the true issue of being an industry killer. This is not automating an assembly line or putting machines in places where humans shouldn't. This is greed and jealousy trying to put a price on the human experience at the expense of other people's livelihoods.

and this is you overanalyzing something that is not that deep

Nnnnooo it is pretty much that deep, you can't just shut your eyes to the context around these things.

Sidenote, maybe we should cut this thread off? Might start to get a bit catty and the original poster found closure in this topic.

I'm with Pinkanator, this thread has clearly derailed.
