Anyways, the elaborate SAO chat going on in the comments right now got me wondering what the taste of people around here is like. Let's get to know each other better, shall we? Insofar as an international, anonymous group of strangers tenuously connected by a shared sexual interest can get to know each other better.

Figured I'd throw in video games because there's some overlap there.

h4. Anime

My favorite is Steins;Gate. I also really loved Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (and the original series too, but Brotherhood beats it, imo) and Fate/stay night (the UBW movie was better, though). I tend to be drawn towards shows that don't take themselves too seriously; so, a lot of what I watch is in the action/comedy and often harem/ecchi genres. Stuff like High School DxD, which I just finished and am REALLY looking forward to the North American release of season 2; and Heaven's Lost Property. And even non-action-y shows like Baka and Test and B Gata H Kei (I'm actually amazed at how much I found to like in that show).

h4. Manga

I got really into the Rosario+Vampire manga, but I only bought the first 9 volumes, and I've only read 7 1/2 of them. I should really get back into it.

h4. Video Games

Oh boy. So much stuff here. Pretty much any Zelda game; most of the Metroid series, particularly the Primes; the Pokemon series; Mario 64 (Galaxy's pretty awesome too. Never played Galaxy 2); Portal and Portal 2; Shadow of the Colossus; Tales of Vesperia; Sonic 3, Colors, and Generations; Persona 4 (should finish that sometime); Xenoblade (same); .hack//G.U. trilogy...

...hmm. Did I leave anything out?

One Piece. It's probably my favorite any kind of show really. From what I understand it has a huge fan base but I every time I bring it up it feels like I'm the only one in the world who likes the darn thing. I also really like awful love kind of animes like Ah! My Goddess and Rosario +Vampire Oddly enough I only liked the anime of that and not the manga, making me the only person on the planet who has ever had that opinion of Rosario + Vampire. I stil buy the shit out those just because it's Rosario + Vampire. Soul Eater, Full Metal Alchemist, there's a lot I like really.

I'm really picky about games that I play. My most recent purchase was Rogue Legacy, and it's looking like one of those rare games I play until I 100% it. Disgaea is my favorite series so far and I've already pre ordered the next installment. I also found out about Saints Row 3 and THAT was just a great experience. I'm really upset that I can't afford 4 yet. I hear a lot of people complain that the series has strayed too far from it's roots, but from what I understand it's roots were just another Grand Theft Auto clone so it don't really see how that's a bad thing. Me and my lady just started up Epic Mickey 2 which we're really enjoying. I think I would hate that game if I had to play it by myself. We love co-oping but we play the game differently. She wants to collect all the stuff and I want to just screw around. It's so much fun.

Also TF2. TF2 is great.

haha oh my god right? I watched the anime first and then I read the manga. My first thought was "Oooooooh I bet everyone was piiiiiissed about that." I really wish they'd make another anime that sticks with the manga, if JUST to have more Rosario + Vampire. I think I'd be interested if it was colored and movey.

Also I feel we should mention Kurumu for everyone. Granted that THING that happens is only in her first major appearance.

Video games... now that's something. I play arcade shoot 'em ups - particularly bullet hell and I'm fairly adept at them. I also play rhythm games, specifically osu!mania on 7 keys but I just started learning them last December so I'm not quite good yet.

Kurumu was my favorite thing in the series. I think I grew to like her even more than Moka. I just loved watching her grow as a character in the manga. She may have sworn off using her Charm/Love Charm/Allure/Whatever else it was translated as power after falling for Tsukune, but iirc, she develops a new illusion power later in the manga. Granted, it's not even close to the same thing, but still mind...related.

I haven't watched any yet. It's on my "to get into" list.

Only ones I've read so far are the Yu-Gi-Oh ones. And its only random parts. So there.

Oh boy! Here we go.

Fallout games. Namely 3 and NV.

Halo is fun.

I kinda like the Civ games.

Minecraft is fun.

Do YGOPro and Dueling Network count as video games?

I enjoy the pokemon games. They're all the same most of the time, but I still enjoy them. I wish I could play the new ones coming out.

I think I've got 3 of those bullet hells on Steam... The Gundemonium collection... not for the light hearted...




I loved her waaaay more than Moka. The cast was great but, she was my laday~ And yeah I think I read that far, wasn't it after that slug guy? I really need to finish that. Although at this point I'd probly just need to re read it.

See above. Love Junji Ito's stuff, though! Uzumaki is wonderfully horrific.

Video Games
Hoo boy. Um... Chrono Trigger's a classic. The Mario RPGs are all great. Love the Monkey Island series. The recent Rayman games have been super fun. Oh! And Yume Nikki. Everyone should play Yume Nikki. (It's free~!)

Edit: And Phoenix Wright! How could I forget Phoenix Wright? Those games are the goddamn bee's knees.

This is what's keeping me from finishing those games I mentioned. I got really far into both of them, but it's been so long since I put them down that I don't remember important things like my strategies, what items I have, or even, ya know, how to PLAY. I'd have to relearn everything, and that basically means starting over. I'm sure I'll grit my teeth and do it one day.

I haven't really watched that much anime, but out of what I've seen I think my favorites are Gurren Lagann, Panty and Stocking, Madoka, Darker than Black, and Steins;Gate. The original FMA was the second anime I ever watched and I adored it, but it's been years since I saw it. I'd also give an honorable mention to Highschool of the Dead for being absolutely horrible in highly entertaining ways.

Manga
Hoshi no Samidare, Shin Angyo Onshi, Berserk, FMA, Baba Yaga, Girlfriends (it's totally a stereotypical yuri manga but it was so heartwarming, okay?)

Video Games
Hoo boy. Valkyria Chronicles (and 2 and 3,) Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4, SMT Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga, The World Ends With You, No More Heroes 2, Fate/Extra, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, Castlevania, Metroid, Zelda, Neir, Ookami, Half-Life 2, Bioshock, TF2, Borderlands 2, Afro Samurai, Pokemon, Saint's Row, Assassin's Creed 2, Uncharted 2, Minecraft. I think. I'll also throw Tsukihime, Fate, and Touhou into this category.

Note that if you added my BL2 and P3P playtime together it'd probably be at least half of everything else on the list put together :|
