I get redirected to rule34/tnc_agreed

Anyone else having this issue?

Generally, if I get redirected on a site, I close it as quickly as I can, because it could be caused by a malicious ad code or the page could have been hijacked to direct you towards a virus.

As for the Rule34 site; I haven't been on there in a while. Don't like how they use popup ads.

So I get to R34....I accept that I need cookies to enter...and then I get the error page which reads this;

Google Chrome could not load the webpage because rule34.paheal.net took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.

I really don't like that site. Half the time it doesn't work because sites don't just return error codes now and it'll say it's up when the site is just throwing up a placeholder page.

Install AdBlock. Some people say it's immoral and blah blah websites need money too; but as long as ads are intrusive and malicious, I'll block them and feel no remorse. Plus it can be set to be disabled on certain websites, which I do if I want to support them and they don't have obnoxious ads.

TL;DR: Get adblock

I'll use adblock on minor offenders, like those that just have an ad network that doesn't quality check it's ads for malicious code, but major offenders like those who *choose* to use popups and redirects I won't touch with a 10 foot pole.

Hypnohub, rule34, gelbooru and many other booru's have popunders because they make as much money as all the other ads together. They pop under the window, not over it.

Adblockers are rising and in the end the adblockers will be the ones to lose, either sites will block all users using adblock, completely die out or lose mayor quality or paywalls are needed to sustain revenue.

In the future i can guarantee you that most of the booru's (including this one) will implement the blocking method to avoid going bankrupt. my stats recorded current adblock total (desktop/tablet/phone) is 33%. Compared to 26% of 2013-2014. Once this number hits the +45% you can expect this on at least the big booru's.

When did this thread become debating the use of Adblock?

I've never had any pop-unders when browsing here, and I use my non-adblock browser for this site. rule34 though, opens a new tab in my browser and redirects the browser focus to that new tab when clicking on thumbnails. That is unacceptable to me, so I don't use the site at all anymore.

There is no need to lecture me about overuse of adblock. Like I said; I use adblock only as a defensive measure for sites that don't know how to, or are incapable of preventing malicous banner ads from getting on them. For me, if a site owners wants me to keep browsing them on my non-adblock browser, they just have to monitor their ads and make sure they don't display ads with malicious code in them.

I really do not think it's too much to ask for the sites I browse not to regularly try to infect my computer with viruses.
