Best way to get hypnotized?
I'm kinda curious as to what you guys prefer to be hypnotized with, and with what situation or object in mind? I myself like everything. @///@ I've always wanted to feel that loss of control...to depend on a master to give orders. That one moment where my mind melts into putty for the hypnotist, to mold into his personal plaything. *blush* ...How about you guys? Favorite method of hypnosis?

I usually just have the subject focus on my words as I relax them and guide them into a nice deep trance.

With a username and avatar like yours, I'd gladly listen to your words.~ Anyone else have a preferred method?

It really depends on the subject. Many subjects respond well to relaxation as a method for being hypnotized; enough that quite a few hypnotists, and most files focus mainly on progressive relaxation. The best thing though is to work with a hypnotist who can adapt to your feedback in order to give you a personalized, and more effective induction. Even if you do respond well to progressive relaxation, the visualizations given to you, and word choice can always be adapted to better appeal to your interests if you are working with a hypnotist rather than simply listening to files.

Swinging pendulums, all day erry day, that captivated look while the subject watches the swinging motion...so good.

I guess I'm a guy who enjoys a more covert approach. You know, not letting the other party know they're being put under (or, if consensual (which in itself makes me get the tingles) just how much control they're giving away) until it's too late. Since any person with half a brain would get suspicious if you started swinging something in front of their face or showed them a screen with a big freaking spiral on it, things like hypnotic accessories or clever words are pretty much the way to go for me.

I'm very partial to spirals than I am to swinging watches or purely vocal inductions. There's some kind of appeal for me by just starting at it as someone tells you to follow their instructions.

If we're talking true to life, then nothing beats an in person session with a large amount of physical maneuvering. Whether it be the sharp tug on the arm as your senses freefall into a daze and you adhere to the command of "SLEEP!" or a gentle brush on your brow or temples helps melt that last bit of stress away.

I tend to perform more than receive in this way but it's a great and gentle way to maintain a session. Normally I like to hold hands and trace my thumb on their palm, lock eyes and speak gently. Perhaps I'd switch to passive speak because it makes a subject feel more at ease as they follow along with my words. Maybe I'd assure them that trance is just a gentle feeling which might grow at the front of the mind or even the back sometimes, much like the feeling of wanting to see how a dream ends on a cold winter morning when you are calmly wrapped in warm toasty blankets.

I could start to blink a little heavier or slow my breathing... My sentences... My tone soft and soothing...

Maybe I'd gently grip their hand and test to show how light it had become, how limber and relaxed a subject could become in a few short seconds... Maybe I'd tell them to imagine magnets drawing the hands up, still guiding and circling with my thumb, before droppi g the arm and the subject and guiding them to the ground or the back of their chair.

That's my favorite way to hypnotize, anyway. It's effective enough, for me anyway.
