Story writers needed for a monster girl game!
So I'm planning to make a monster girl VN. The aim is to have around 25-30 characters in it. I'm commissioning an artist to do these and right now we have 2 characters fully done with all scenes. I'm greatly inspired by the monster girl quest franchise.

I made my first test VN here: tbib.org/tmp/foxxy_VNtest_1.zip (NSFW, loli)
Though its a bit buggy and trough scenes some text is skipped, if i were to redo this that would most likely be fixed.

The story used in my test VN is just some copy/pasting and stuff i made up. Unfortunately I'm not very creative so I'm looking for people to up story/h-scene text. You must be able to work well in a team and I'll set up a workplace for it soon. If you're on the team you will also be able to make suggestions and if you'd like to see a type of monster girl in there you wish to write for that could possibly be arranged :)

As a story writer you can contribute in any way you'd like, specific characters or the general flow of the story.

At the end of the road I'll also be needing an EN>JP translator so this can be put on the Japanese market to.

EDIT: Those interested, reg up here and fill out the small application form mgg.booru.pics

Erm... No VN has 25-30 characters... That's absolutely absurd. Do you have any idea how long it takes to write a VN with just THREE characters? You will never finish a story with that many characters... You need to lower it to like 5 or 6 absolute max.

Edit: Also your hosting service is retardedly slow. I am not waiting 20 minutes to download this. Put it on Mega.

Play MGQ (monster girl quest), come back here and we'll talk more about this.

You seem to be setting some pretty unrealistic expectations for yourself, is all I'm saying.

Unrealistic expectations how? I have funds, resources and management capability's to make this into something successful. Doesn't look like you actually played MGQ after all. If you're not here to help then just don't reply, thanks.

I'm interested in helping with this project but I can't promise much on H-scenes. Might I ask what Engine you'll be using to make this VN?

Don't know yet, it depends whenever i find a programmer or if i have to do it myself. I did the test in tyranobuilder.

Given your reference to Monmusu, I'd reword slightly. Monmusu had a beastiary of, like, 100+ (not checking, too lazy), but I'd hardly call 90% of them characters.

Realistically, I'd say the generals, the spirits, Sara, the big bad 4, and a handful of angels. I'll estimate about 15 or so.

No offense, but I'm not going to consider the slime in the tutorial battle a character. While "random" encounters do have some semblance of personality, I wouldn't call them, or even some bosses, characters.

So, for your 25-30, do you mean real, pursuable love/lust interests (in which case I completely agree with LittleToyMaker), or are a decent chunk of them something that can be easily considered "bad end"?

Also, you reference Monmusu as being heavy insporation - are you planning on doing something following closely along those lines, or are you planning on something a little more standard, like wooing and nuzzling, VS Monmusu's "everything will rape you" approach?

Sounds interesting u can count me in. i have work on a team for a 3d game so im familiar with programs like unity and 3d maya. i do illustration okay in Photoshop (improving everyday) n can do story writing in script format. I can also do a bit animation. As for 25-30 characters i will admit it is a bit complicated(from experience) but it is possible, im just wondering if each one is suppose to have a background story or something? oh n i understand a little Japanese so i can help a bit with translation.

A decent chuck can be called "bad end" although i don't want to make the a bad end game like MGQ. So standard approach i guess. Every char has enough faces to basically be more then just a simple bad end character, so depending on the story it could go anywhere.

so basically, a game with 25-30 characters, each with a distinct personality worth chasing to some degree (as opposed to Monmusu's sex-craved randoms)?

Might be plausible if you have arbitrary splits with few crossovers. If you've ever played Katawa Shojo, you'll know what I mean - a few decisions in CH1 lead to CH2+ being tied closely around 2 characters, a love interest and a BFF, with the remaining 4 being either forgotten, or supporting roles at best.

Even looking at that at a reasonable level, that means (hypothetically) 5 branching storylines that don't cross over, and each one would need at least 1 dedicated writer, for consistancy's sake.

I honestly think it'd be much easier and more effective to make 5 games with 5 charas than 1 game with 25. Any game I've seen with such a huge cast always either puts many to the sidelines, or kills a ton off.

Of course, this is all your decision, obviously - I'm just adding my two cents in, as a gamer, and someone who dabbles in writing & game design.

Do you have a base storyline already? Something to compel people to write for you? Proof of concept, basically. Even something as simple as what you might read on the back of the game's dustjacket if you found it at an EB.
