Disney's The Jungle Book (live remake) Trailer
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh18vU4BixQ

They're coming right out front and center with the fetish appeal of ScarJo!Kaa, goddamn. You'd think even the implication would raise a few eyebrows with the pedo-hunt brigade (or maybe that's why they thought they had to make Kaa into a female, since the double-standard isn't nearly so stringent).

Sploosh, though. This is going to rock.

I agree this will be awesome. I just don't know how anyone can sexualize the Kaa in this film.

She looked majestically terrifying.

I'd like to imagine there was one animator who was really enthusiastic about animating the Kaa scene. Like, really really enthusiastic.

Old Kaa looked goofy and cartoonish, frankly. That tended not to stop any of us (who were exposed to this fetish via The Jungle Book), did it?

Separate thing is Kaa actually gets more cartoonish in the same film. He looks sleeker and more predatory in the first encounter, but his head is more rounded in the second. Lighting accounts for some of that, but not all...

Transcript of SKaarJo's sexy monologue for any artists/manippers that may want to use it. (please please please):

Are you alone out here? What are you doing so deep in the jungle? Don't you know what you are? I know what you are. I know where you came from. Poor sweet little cub... I'll keep you clossse... Let go of your fear now. And trussst in me.

Whelp, at least they'll continue the legacy to the next generation, helps that they got scarlett johanson for the voice.

Honestly not a fan of Scarjo's voice for Kaa. Now that I've heard it, it doesn't really seem like it fits.

Hmm. I'm kind of half and half on the voice. I think I'll need to see it in action to really decide.

That said, I'm surprised disney decided to go with a fem voice. Gives the scenes a stronger sexual overtone, which they usually avoid like the plague. Might have gotten through under the mindset of "well no one would ever find this sexy".

The big thing that would surprise me is if they actually stuck with the eye rings/hypnosis. Honestly seems a bit out of place in a movie that's trying to ground itself in realism. Don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if they do it, and especially if scarlet does the song(though I think they've said it won't be a musical) but I just don't see it happening.

I don't know about eye rings, but the hypnosis IS happening.

Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johannsson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub

Also, live-action =/= realism.

Well, you just got my hopes up.

I do hope they use some kind of eye based visual cue to indicate the hypnosis. The visual stuff is the icing on the cake that makes the whole hypno-meal oh so sweet

What's really weird is that there's another Jungle Book movie coming out in 2017 where Kaa is being voiced by Cate Blanchett.

After looking over the trailer again, I did notice that Kaa's eyes are definitely larger than a normal python's(I think, I don't have any experience with snakes beyond zoos) so I think it's fair to say the eye hypnosis will happen since they've enlarged that feature.

Am I the only one who thought Kaa's original voice was REALLY hot?

Is really uncomfortable when you realize it's the same as the original voice for Winnie the Pooh.
