So I gotta ask...
How come most people that have a hypnosis fetish also have a foot fetish? I'm curious because it's extremely common and there's almost no relation between the two; I've never seen a hypnosis scene from a tv show or something that had anything foot related involved. I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one. I understand there isn't one universal type of hypno fetish: some like being hypnotized by snakes, some by some tech control thing, some by tentacles, and some by...idk..being drowned by skittles-but whatever.

I, of course, have a hypnosis fetish that I've never been aroused by feet; that doesn't mean I don't understand it, though. Best explanation I've heard was that a person with a foot fetish is attracted to feet the same way I would be attracted to boobs, hips or butts, which totally was a good explanation.

So, is it just a coincidence? Is there something obvious I'm not getting?

As they in that Shades of Grey movie, enlighten me.

(Remember,I'm not trying to bash anyone with this fetish. This is for SCIENCE.)

EDIT: I said "most people" when I should have said "a lot of people". Sorry 'bout that. Also, plz excuse muh grammar.

Foot fetish is way more common than most other fetishes, so maybe it's just a coincidence. Pics with foot fetish are more noticeable too, you don't even need to look at the full picture, just scroll through the thumbnails and you'll see them (some other fetishes related to mind control are usually more subjective), then it's easier to assume there are too many of them (not that it's a bad thing).

On the other hand, I've seen a lot of people who have hypnofetish and transformation fetish (myself included), and that's something that always have bugged me.

I don't have a foot fetish. I certainly have a thing for high heels, but not feet.

No foot fetish here. In fact, most of foot fetish pictures aren't too appealing for me, despite still being hypno (like when it's effect, not cause of hypnosis).

As other people said, it's just coincidence.

A lot of it is coincidence, as others have pointed out. Foot fetishism is one of the most common fetishes there is, if not THE most common. As such, there's obviously a ton of overlap going on. That's not the ONLY possible cause, though. Look through a lot of the hypnosis stage shows available on sites like YouTube. You'll see in a lot of shows that the people participating (most often the girls) will take their shoes off before getting on stage. As for why, I assume because it's easier to relax with them off. Many hypnotists also do shoe-related suggestions, such as telling subjects to remove their shoes under hypnosis, think their shoes are phones, making one participant a shoe thief, etc. Any young person who is just developing a hypnosis fetish who sees a show with things like that in it may also develop a foot fetish.

What Mindwipe said, but also extrapolating on this a bit: shoe suggestions are pretty safe to have for a more family-friendly show, and a prop that almost everyone will have on. Having people remove tops/pants can move to R ratings pretty quickly and may be awkward for those who have compunctions against exhibitionism, while things like hats and gloves would be a bit seasonal/setting specific.
I don't have a thing for feet myself, but I understand that foot fetishes are incredibly common, and some feet pics can be pretty hot regardless (though usually text or breast related as well, but not the main focus of the pic)

I have a hypnosis fetish and a hand fetish...so, I guess I'm close? Lols.

Anyway, as the thread says, it's basically all coincidence, just like my combination. A foot fetish is really common (apparently almost as much as breasts? Wow!) and almost every fetish community has feetfriends as a result.

*puts on science hat*

Here's an interesting research article from 2007 titled <<www.nature.com/ijir/journ...a.html%3Fref%3Ddod-jptc.o|"Relative Prevalence of Different Fetishes".>> A group of scientists did a study on several thousand Yahoo groups dedicated to different fetishes and categorized them. According to this study, feet are by far the most common fetish. Keeping in mind that people can have multiple fetishes, it's not all that far-fetched to have crossovers in fetish art.

<<www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1158136015000109|This next article>> is, unfortunately not open access. However, you can read the overview and conclusions by that link if you're interested. The sample size on this one is smaller and more specific (800+ heterosexual university students in Sweden and Italy), but it was more focused on gender differences. Although women do develop fetishes (Hi, my name is PomPom), this study found men developed fetishes more often.

So this might be some food for thought, especially if you're just interested in paraphilia studies in general. It's hard to find reasonable studies, and interestingly enough, a few articles from the 70s and 80s on "curing" paraphilia. It seems that newer studies are much less interested in curing and more about understanding them.

Damn interesting answers. I guess the verdict is "coincidence". Although, I'd like to hear someone with said foot fetish to give their two cents.

And yeah, I asked mainly because of the mountains of hypno-feet YT videos. Almost any type of hypno related search will lead you to one of those.

As a fellow foot fetishist, I'm going to back Mindwipe on this. While the hypno community may not pay attention to feet, hypnosis acts as flavour in the very saturated market of foot fetish porn. Me, I'm a bit of a dissident in that I prefer male doms and female subs to the more conventional mistress-slave arrangement. It's incredibly rare to find any foot fetish content of this kind, but I've actually found a few gems hiding in hypno stories, so personally I cannot get enough them!

Interestingly, other common fetishes like macro/microphilia are chronically unrepresented in mind control department, be it videos, artwork or erotica. I suppose there are some functional constraints when it comes to implementing hypno stuff in the context of certain paraphilias, but I wonder if there is any other reason for this lack of content.

Hi there.

Feet, lingerie, and hypno kinks here.

... also yuri, ahegao, ahem, a few more things.

Now, why?

... I don't know.

A lot of fetishes make exactly zero sense, even to the people having them.

However, from what I can tell the hypnosis fetish overlaps with a ton of others. Practically the most out of any fetish, near as I can tell. I think this is due to the fact that it's so easy to "insert" hypnosis into the other fetish.

The foot fetish is just the one that sticks out to you personally, because for some reason or another you're looking for cases that confirm that overlap. It's called a confirmation bias, and it's the bane of statisticians everywhere.
