A special request.
Hello everyone. I have received many complaints on my DA about the watermarks affecting my manips. I'd like to create a sort of 'Badge' to show that they are my manips, without it taking up too much space on the picture itself.

I, myself, will be creating a few, but, as the title suggests, If you would like, I would be interested in seeing other's idea's for this 'Badge'.

I'm not sure if it's allowed, but, if you wish to E-Mail me a picture, you may contact me at:

(Yes, that is my actual E-Mail for any endeavors of the hypnotic nature.

I can understand taking pride in your work but I've always found the idea of placing a custom watermark on someone else's art to be a little disrespectful. I've made a few manips in my time here but no matter how much work that I put into them I didn't really try to stamp an insignia on them to claim them.
I know what it's like to want recognition for the things that you do. If you enjoy and put a lot of time into it, it will seem all the more rewarding to be appreciated by others. Honestly, however, I don't know if it's that big of a deal when it comes to manips.
Even if your work is claimed by someone else as their own, it's not as though you're the original artist. Moreover, the actual artist might take issue with the insignia.
If you stick to the work of Japanese artists you'll probably be able to avoid that but it still shows very little respect for the origin of the source material.

If you still want to do it. I recommend just expanding the bottom a little or something and putting all of the images info there. Remember to put things like, who originally drew it, who altered it, where to find the works of both the artist and manipper, etc.

I knew someone would bring this into play. Just, disregard this. Not your statement, but, the thread. I'm not trying to 'claim' work as my own, I just don't want my manips being reposted as if someone else did them. Regardless. Fine. For now, my DA watchers will have to live with it.

Just to make sure, you all know I'm not an artist, right? I'm a manipper?

Sometimes the two can overlap when you feel you've put your all into a project. Trust me I know. : )

And, I'm sorry it felt like I was accusing you. I just wanted you to look at it from another angle. I still think that suggestion that I offered at the end is a good idea if you want get recognition for the manip. If the image has all of its info there then no one could complain and people would at least think twice before attempting to steal from you.

I would just put it like how Grimest puts their watermarks, below the text of their picture. Only I would put the name of the artist in it as well, and then the manipper's name in a smaller font below it or something.

Someone could edit it out, but if they were going to do that, what's stopping them from editing out your watermark normally using an unmanipped picture and simply putting only your edits on back it?

True but the main problem, again, would be that the original work is being edited to include the watermark at all. Grimest is an iffy case because people don't like to worry or think too much about explicit images and what happens to them but P-lu would be doing mostly SFW images so people might be more likely to get offended. That's all the more probably if an image from a western artist is manipped.

I recommend my suggestion.
