hey guys! So I have been putting a LOT of money away recently. Reason being is because I REALLY need a cintiq. Why do I need one? Well personally, I feel I can pump out some seriously better work on one. The Intous I have currently is great don't get me wrong. It's helped me pump out hundreds of drawings. But I feel that after years of using normal drawing tablets (5 years of using an old intuous4 and 1 year of the intous small) it's time to step up my game and work something more industry standard.


Right now I am $281 away from purchasing the tablet! I'm positive I can make that this week with you guys's help!

Cintiqs are over the top awesome, yet, but there isn't all that large of a difference between the two, I find. Your art will be the same, mostly.

It may be better, but don't get one expecting a notable quality change. Get one expecting things to be easier for you instead.

Penken, I know that feeling... I've got money saving up for a cintiq myself....

But no seriously, all a cintiq is is a tool. It'll make certain things go faster, and it'll ease the disconnect between the screen and hand, but just remember that, at its core, good art is all about fundamentals and how you practice them. I mean, I could draw anime chicks all day, but when would i learn anatomy then?

I only say get better because with the inaccuracy that my current tablet has (in terms of having to guess where the curser is) i tend to give up on certain lines I make. I hope with a cintiq. I can speed up the art process and make lines i originally had in mind

Ok, I can agree that it will most definitely help with that. Also, protip. DO NOT USE PAINT TOOL SAI WITH A CINTIQ!

If I'm not wrong Sleepymaid uses SAI on a Cintiq, tho.

Lol! I used to love it, but then again, that was the best I'd come by. Now I'm using Manga Studio~<3
Also, protip, you will need to adjust a setting in MS when you get your cintiq. At least I needed to.



How the hell did she manage to get that to work? I can't find the setting to change to make it work. DX Any idea?

It might be a problem with your computer. On my old computer I had nonstop issues getting Sai to function with my Cintiq. The most common problem being losing pressure sensitivity at random. After getting my new computer a few months ago though, I haven't had any problems.

I had the same issue with Manga Studio before I found the right setting to change to allow for the cintiq use. I have no idea what the problem is, but it's NOT a pressure thing. [Although tht does crap out from time to time, then I just reboot the program I'm using and it's all good].

It's a cursor thing.
