Some guy called Tedturner07 on Exhentai just posted a lot of people's captions with no credit to either their manippers or captioners.

Thanks for the warning. I'm no mod but I suppose the best thing to do is contact either the user or the administrators of Exhentai and request either credit or removal of the captions.

That being said, don't be surprised if you see this happen again. Unfortunately, some people, while being appreciative of our work here, don't really understand the concept of crediting something. They probably think they are just sharing 'good stuff', without realizing that it is, at best, a disrespect of the work done.

I have sometimes seen my own stuff used elsewhere, without credit to me nor to the original artist. Personnally, I don't mind that much, in a way I feel proud to see my work recognized ^^" But I find it sad for the original artist.

I would just ignore it, frankly. Given the ratings on their stuff, it looks like they're doing the e-hentai equivalent of shitposting. Nobody's really going to see or care about their stuff. Not sure if e-hentai does manipper tags, either (they do credit translators, but this isn't quite that).

Yeeeeah... I don't want my name on my manips on exhentai. I'd prefer them to not be there, but I have no authority to ask for them to be removed.

There's not really much of a way to credit manippers on exhentai. Our tagging scheme that we use here, which allows manippers to be tagged as artists, is unique. We can't really expect other sites to follow the same scheme simply because we do, especially since manipping as a whole is so ambiguous legally. A note in the comments about who the manipper was would have been nice, but I wouldn't go expecting that.

Honestly, I see many gallery sites with manips I know were created for the Hub, and they're extremely rarely credited to anyone but the artist of the original image, if even them. That's just how it generally goes.

As for taking any sort of action to have them removed... I find that unlikely. As I mentioned before, manips as a whole are ambiguous in their legality. It would be unwise to make any sort of stink about them being posted elsewhere, since even the manippers have a very shaky claim to them, let alone myself and other staff of the Hub.

Plus it's hard to get e-hentai to delete anything without lawyering up and getting on the DNP list.

Consider it a sign that someone things your stuff is good enough to get noticed.

95% of the stuff here is pure trash I'd not bother putting or even sharing because trash belongs in the bin and not shared.

Well, some of worse stuff on hhub is uploaded by this person there.

Also, even if some things don't strike my fetishes... why so rude? Aside of two pictures with phineas and few about eye-sirens, I don't remember anything deserving *this* harsh words, that wasn't removed from hhub later.

I'm a bit adverse to my things showing up there, particularly because of the site's reputation.

Also: I feel particularly annoyed that my manips have an average of 1.5 Stars. They certainly aren't that bad.

You guys remember the manga I commissioned from Nell Chrome? They wouldn't even take that one down when I asked (my reason being i wanted it to be hypnohub exclusive for a while) unless I would proof that I have the copyright with my real name, adress and a copyright register scan or other legal proof of any kind.

So yeah, good luck getting some of your work removed, yet alone a manip ...

I wouldn't take that personally.

A lot of galleries are voted down not because of their content, but because of their lack of content. Galleries that are 3-4 images tend to have exceptionally low ratings regardless of quality.

That, and this user uploaded a ton of small galleries of similar content back-to-back when he could have just uploaded them all at once. I have a strong feeling that many users just voted low on all of these galleries without really looking at the content in order to condemn that posting behavior.

Even besides all that, image edits (manips), captions, and rewrites tend to be frowned upon at exhentai for one reason or another.

Really, there are tons of reasons why the galleries would have low ratings even if the images are good.
