should this site have a type of following system?
there are a lot of people that do awesome work on this site i like and i think that there should be a type of following button that would allow people to know and more easily see their art. so if they been gone for awhile that way they don't have to bookmark or try and fine the person to see if they uploaded anything. But that's what i think do any of you agree? let me know what you think

I like this idea.

This sounds like a fun and useful idea. And hopefully easy to implement if enough people like it to make the mods take note.

Nothing on this site is easy to implement, since we can't edit the source code.

Plugin?

I'm not best at making plugins, but...

1) check amount of results of searching artist
2) compare it to older result
3) new > old - make popup?

Hmm. Maybe I can take a crack at this. I did start writing a Android app that let you subscribe to tags and sends a notification when a new image is uploaded or when a new comment was posted on them (for artists who want to see their feedback). Pretty sure i've still got the code somewhere

All the required endpoints are given if you check out the API section of the help page so that'll help

Technically you can, MyImouto's code is on GitHub and you're free to fork AFAIK.

It is, however, a bunch more work than just the coding part.

Shame I don't have as much programming time as I used to (HUGE deadline next week @_@). I would like to finish it at some point. Got to the point where I had functions that could grab all of the images in a tag and count their votes and comments. Now it's the boring bits of making a nice UI to use that of that. I was going to make it not display images and look like a normal mail app (SwirlMail) so it was safe to use in public

Any Java devs want to give me a hand?
