Well, it seems like Jimryu is gone for good

Just went over Jimryu's DA page, <<jimryu.deviantart.com/|seems like he deleted all his stuff except for 4 images>>.

Considering that we got pretty much most of his stuff saved here I'd say the situation is not that bad... but if anyone still got pics saved that never got uploaded (especially if it was uploaded by a commissioner instead) please upload them on the hub so they don't get lost forever ;-).

He's working exclusively from his Blog now, although he did cancel his latest ComicPack due to the recent leaks.

I didn't know Jim even HAD a blog. I remember the old one he deleted years ago... mind linking it?

And honestly I don't really understand his issue. He freaks out when people put his art here, why? Before recently it was all on his page for free anyways. Here it won't get deleted by admins like it does on DA so its still free, just saved elsewhere. But for whatever reason he took offense. Whatever, though.

I kinda hope he isn't "done" as I just commissioned something from him during the last time he took commissions.

I don't think he ever complained about his stuff being here, though. If he did, we'd have removed his art ages ago. We did that for a bunch of artists already.

He usually complained about people "posting his art elsewhere" and I don't see why it was a big deal. He never specifically mentioned the Hub. I think his biggest issue was Hypnochan, which caused him to remove everything as people started posting a flood of older Jimryu works there. Apparently he has something against H.C. Not sure what it is. It's just strange to me that an artist wouldn't want their CREDITED art somewhere else.
Then again, he *could* be removing his art in rebellion since DA often just rips his art down anyways.

I remember that, at least. I think his main issue with Hypnochan was people posting his paywalled content without even crediting him.

We have a rule against paywall content, and we credit sources. Somehow, I don't think he'd remove his stuff from DA in protest against the Hub. Certainly not without saying this is the case.

What I think happened is someone reported some (or most) of his gallery, and that ticked him off. He's been banned from Deviantart before because someone took offense to girls in bikini being hypnotized.

No, his blog says he took it down himself. The only way his art is going up on DeviantArt, is when people who commission him post it there.

Really? Why do you think that? (This isnt meant as a snarky "why do you think that?" but as an ACTUAL question. I hate that I have to specify that online...)

Personally, I find hi art looks VERY similar to the art of the characters he's drawing. Almost to the point it seems like they're just ripped from the screen. Not sure about you but I think that's skillful and I use skill to determine what makes something "good" personally.
