Holy shit guys Netflix is great what was I missing?
So, I finally caved and got Netflix. Confirmed Punisher show, and Bionicle will do that. AND HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOOOOOD... There's just so much fucking shit I don't know where to start! I mean, I watched the first episode of Daredevil? Talk about a fucking hook! That's like one of the best first episodes I've ever seen! And I didn't even notice it was an hour! No add breaks might do that, but still! And there's still so much! I can finally get around to Death Note, I can properly watch Yu-Gi-Oh without it just being random, holy shit I can watch the full first season of Pokemon?! And there's still so much! I hear Bojack Horseman is great, of course there's the rest of the Marvel stuff, the first few seasons of Mythbusters (american VO but I'll live.) and just... everything!

But first, I gotta watch the most important thing on the site. <<youtu.be/hHVrnZZwbQc|The most important thing in the library.>>

Here's some recommendations for you. I've got many more I could throw your way. Just say the word!

For shows and Netflix originals: Jessica Jones, Beasts of No Nation, and Frasier.

For movies: Upstream Color, Hot Fuzz, There Will Be Blood, Galaxy Quest, I Saw The Devil and 13 Assassins.

I've been thinking about getting it for a while now. I'm pretty sure I'll be signing up within the next month or so.

Never understood the Netflix thing. It's like getting excited that you can watch any show on the Internet.

Legally. Better streaming. Higher quality. Etc. On a mobile device, and a lot of streaming things (youtube aside) don't cooperate with mobile.

I argue with higher quality. Now let me state first and foremost that I've never, ever used Netflix, however I've used OTHER legal sources for things (mainly Anime) in the past such as Crunchyroll and the like, and at least in THOSE cases, you were literally paying money for an objectively worse product than if you had pirated it.

At least in those cases, they clearly had no idea how to do a proper encode and the video would always be full of artifacting and many shows that were available in "1080p" were really just poorly upscaled 720p. Plus the translations were almost always worse than the fansubs.

Even in the cases where the shows aren't being fansubbed and you only have official subs to work with, many series will get rips where they take the official subs and time them to higher quality video, so again, you get better quality video for free.

Again, I can't say for sure how Netflix does it, but at least in the case of what I have experience with, paying for shows has always been worse than pirating them.

I've never run into that, really.
Sure, there's the odd time that when I'm streaming it has to bugger and all that bull, but I attribute that to my net.

Audio quality for anime seems pretty good. Seven Deadly Sins being a prime one.

Also, I have the FMA:B Blu ray, and I watched it on Netflix. Seems the same, from what I watched [which admittedly wasn't much due to how I really don't have much interest in rewatching it already. Lol]

Crunchroll.... I subbed to that for a month, before it irritated the ever loving shit out of me. DX
So ... let's not even use that as a comparison. I couldn't find quality on there, personally.

But these are just my experiences, as yours are yours. So... take it with a grain of salt?

FYI when you stream something it's almost always going to look worse than something that is directly downloaded because they try and save bandwidth.

Yeah but paying. And if I'm watching a show, I'd rather watch it on a decent screen, and not on a phone.
Then again I barely watch... one show every 2 months? I don't have time to watch things x_x So it's not worth it.

Netflix got me into Star trek because it has like every episode of star trek ever (at least in TNG), and it has most of fhe movies. However, I don't use netflix very often, primarily because I don't use tv often, and watching tv on a pc feels wierd to me. I don't know how to describe it. It's like walking your cat, it can be fun, but you just won't do it, or something like that.

Now for a super hidden feature that no one talks about: I think this requires a second account (at least that's what the website implies), but you can also have a suprisingly large variety of dvds (maybe blurays as well, but I wouldn't know, as I never had a bluray player) shipped straight to your residence, and you can keep it as long as you want (or until you want another). Seriously, Whenever people mention netflix, they never talk about this.

So, you are telling me you have no device that can play it back on your TV? Like a TV with Network connection, an Apple TV, any other media box, a PC you could hook up, a PS3 or PS4, a XBox One or 360?

Basically, if you can pirate a series and stream/watch it on the TV, chances are pretty good, you can somehow use netflix and crunchyroll on that device as well.

Also the series on general have more quality than everything that you could find on tv.

... no. It's the opposite. They said it's good to be able to watch series on a mobile device, and I say 'who cares, I wouldn't watch them on a phone anyway'.
And again, I could, but paying.

Ironic considering that was LITERALLY THE POINT when they started.
