There are a lot of nods to hypnotism in agents of shield, from Agent Coulson geeking out over a vintage hypno gun, to hydra using hypno screens to hypnotize people (many of them being females) into being slaves for hydra.

Actually, Marvel (and to an extent, DC too) has been using MC and related subjects a lot lately.

It's cause it's (imo) one of the absolute easiest powers to be able to use in a show/movie, right next to like mind reading as you just put a voiceover/sounds in post. For MC you don't have to really add in effects, all you need is good acting on both ends, like where Dom sells their performance for seducing/dominating/whatevering the sub into total submission and obedience. And all you really need to do from there is act emotionless and totally just parrot the responses to whatever's commanded.

If you guys are talking season 2 with Hydra season 3 continues the theme with yes, even more of it. Like RedCollarBlackCollar said, its a good way for a show to not need new actors, cheap to have as an effect, and still an effective threat without necessarily having violence. Easily why so many cartoon shows have at least one or two episodes with it.
