I have an Acer monitor here, and it seems good to me. But then, I have been using it for a couple of years now, so I may just not be able to tell if there's a problem.

Depends on how much you want to pay, how important good RGB is for you and how big the monitor should be and which resolution you want oh and which Panel you prefer of course.

Btw did you finally get a new graphics card?

Probably because you haven't been using good monitors. Acer aren't known for being good monitors, just cheap ones.

when i see my laptop from below :

white is white
even if i see it from 50 degrees from below

when i see my monitor from below :

white becomes yellow

and my eye can tell even the slightest color change, and this is wayyyy too yellow, even pro drawings becomes too yellow now @@

well, i still will stream my drawing tonight, hopefully my color sense will level up by drawing on a different monitor

and hopefully i can get the money needed for a new monitor next month .-.

=-==

i get gtx 970 instead of 950, thats why its only a hope that i can get the money necessary for buying a new monitor .-.

I think that describes, well, pretty much every Acer product. "Good enough... ish"

Depends on the monitor. Some Asus are good, some are in an area where you would get more by buying something else.

Viewsonic normally aren't that bad, but you might have gotten a model with a bad viewing angle. That is why the color changes. My Monitor doesn't change that at all - I can view the same color at any angle, though this has more to do with the IPS Panel I am using. You probably have one with a TN Panel, used widely in cheap models.

Anyway, you can't just say "I buy from [enter random brand] and it will be good, right?" these days, because it varies by model. Personally, I like both BenQ and Dell. They have served me well in the past couple of years, but friends had good experiences with Asus and LG as well.

If you want some tipps, you still need to tell me your price range, the resolution you want (1080p, 1200p, 1440p), how big the monitor should be (23/24 or 27inch) and how important the following things are for you:

Drawing/Picture colors
Gaming
Watching Movies

I can then look up a couple of monitors. Thing is, this is one important part you shouldn't be cheap. You'll be working with this monitor for probably the next 4-7 years, until you change to
4k. But you can get some really good monitors in the 200-250€ range these days that should fit your needs.

huh, i think i'll save up for couple of months first

i need 20 inch (no need bigger really, 20 is just best)
and i just need what you have, viewing the same color doesn't change, since it'll fvk up my color sense.

and i finally, i want white to be white, not yellowish, not bluish, not reddish, just... white. viewed at all angles (on this monitor, i see from below and it'll turn yellowish, lol)

that's all really @@

23 is the minimum you can go for, they don't make them any smaller these days when you want decent quality. High Viewing angle, got it - so I guess IPS Panel is something you want. Good sRGB as well.

How about this one then? www.amazon.com/PB238Q-192...&keywords=Asus+PA238Q

23 inch, 1080p
178° Viewing angle (so basically until you can't see the picture anymore anyway)
100% sRGB coverage (which basically means red is red and blue is blue)
You can pivot it (so you can switch the monitor to have it at a 90 degree angle, which is probably optimal when you are drawing) -> images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41V%2BWKn-uCL.jpg
Easy to use, good On Screen Menu
Good for Gaming as well, unless you play on the CS GO Pro Level you won't have any problems
Good for watching a Movie

Downsides:
- no speakers, so if you want sound, you need to get extra speakers

Other than the speakers this one has no real downsides. It performs really good in most aspects. It's a really good offer, being one of the price/performance choices unless you want either a bigger display (which you do not want) or higher resolution. I am pretty sure this one will fit all your needs. :)

You're welcome. If you buy the monitor, either go to a store and let them show you the display of the monitor you are buying or buy it at amazon.

If you buy a monitor nowadays, you can have dead pixels (which means a spot on your screen is either constant black, white or another color, no matter the picture) and they do not need to take them back normally (because it is allowed to sell monitors with a low amount of these errors). That said, if you buy a display in a store they previously showed you (get them to show you a white and a black background) and you are okay with the usual backlight bleeding an IPS panel has (little whiteish around the edges of the screen), then buy it in the store.

Otherwise Amazon offers 30 days return if you are not satisfied with you product. So if you get one sent to you and the one you got has pixel errors, you can just return it and order another one.

In 95% of the cases you will be fine, just giving you some tipps because people have been unlucky with monitor purchases because of that in the past. :)
