Your Current Favorite Anime
What is it and why?

Mine's Parasyte. It's got a classic shonen feel, but it's really fucked-up due to it actually being a seinen. Tons of retro 80s-styled monsters, body horror, and cheesy but still somewhat poignant philosophical value. Imagine John Carpenter's The Thing, except there's thousands and thousands of them, and they're all completely hidden due to being ultra-efficient predators with high intellectual capacity. And the main character has one in his hand.

It does what Jojo does in that it's a modernized version of an 80s manga, and sticks to that while still being directed in a way that feels modern. Parasyte is a little bit more modernized than Jojo, though, and that includes its dubstep and synth-trap battle themes. Does anyone here imagine "Skrillex clone" when they think of 80s sci-fi horror music?

Girls und Panzer, if it isn't obvious already from <<www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzM-e7NSkDM|my endless posting of music from the series>>. It might be a fairly standard schoolgirl anime, but my interest in World War II armored vehicles makes it very interesting. There's also quite a lot of attention to detail in the combat and depiction of the vehicles themselves, though some attributes are exaggerated.

The characters are a diverse bunch too, and it's entertaining to watch their interactions.

Either Ping Pong or Kaiba. Basically, Masaaki Yuasa is one of my favorite directors.

Ping Pong is a sports anime. Of course, it's not so much about the sport itself as it is the people who play it. Great soundtrack, rich characters, and some really amazing directing. The artstyle is strange but grows on you quickly. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcSuAhbtIFg

Kaiba is a dystopian sci-fi, taking place in the far future where memories can be transferred freely. It's very melancholic, with quite a few moments that will make you cry. And again, everything surrounding it is outstanding. Definitely recommend.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- is like the sweetest torment. Every episode is such a gut wrenching cliffhanger.

Not sure if it really counts as anime but Thunderbolt Fantasy is amazing

Dragon Ball GT, because everyone hates it...

Honestly, Sword Art Online and Deathnote are my two favorites... Original DBZ comes in with a close 3rd, followed by Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Steins;Gate, because it is the best thing ever. Super memorable characters, a plot with tons of tension and drama and time travel that kinda makes sense, a love story that actually works, and an exceptional English dub on top of everything.

Hmm...well, I'm currently watching Digimon Tamers. It's probably a three-way tie between that, Adventure 02, and .hack//SIGN.

Maybe... It really depends what kind of merch you want... I can sell you notebooks designed off the Deathnote, Blown glass replicas of the 7 dragon balls (Both Earth and Namekian.), replica swords designed to look like Kirito's blades, Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and Pokemon plushies... (The only clothes I sell are replicas of every variant of Ash's hat, replicas of Goku's Gi, of the trench coats Kirito likes to wear, and also that hat that Gohan wears at the beginning of DBZ Kai. (The one that had the 4-star ball as an ornament.)

Just checked stock... We have a few Gir plushies left over, but no stuff on this "Johnny" fellow. Is he by chance that one with the axe who chops down a door while screaming that he's arrived to crash the party?

K-On! is my current favorite, having recently picked it up. Lucky Star is also really nice.

But I enjoyed the antics of Kampfer for quite a while.

Hard to have a favorite these days, for me.

Everything i've ever been into seems to fall into the Late 1970's - 2002 category, but every so often, I see a newer series that I get into.

Though I wouldn't say any of these are my CURRENT favorite, a of most recently i've seen Nichijou, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Watamote, D-Frag, Madoka Magica, Phoenix Wright (though mostly out of obligation as an Ace Attorney fan), One Piece (though that's just a given, i've been in this for the long haul), Sailor Moon (For the first time in a long time, thanks to the recent re-releases). but that's just the recent things since then, that I can recall.

Gonna watch Kill la Kill, and Assassination Classroom once I have the time to watch a new one. Probably when I finish some of the other current ones i'm seeing.

Also "New Game!" That one looks nice.

But yeah, none of them really have taken the place of many of my old favorites, which I still am a fan of, and are too many to list here. I only watch a few anime these days here and there, compared to the 90's and early 2000's in which every single day was devoted to something else. :P

As you can tell, I don't often watch a lot lately. Just those few, and one I hope to pick up later on. And not much SUPER SUPER recent.
