MTG Favorite MC cards
Got to hang out with my friends yesterday in the city and play a single game of EDH. While MC is a fetish I clearly enjoy here, it's also one of my favorite abilities in games (and possibly the most evil to an extent imo, just using other people's physical cards agains them). Other than my Trostani/Selesnya deck, my other main one happens to be Esper with Sen Triplets as the commander, which in every way is sinister down to the core. For those unfamiliar with Magic, imagine playing any sorta multiplayer card game like Uno or Poker or whatever, and at the very beginning of my turn, so long as I have <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=180607&type=card|this card in play>>, I can chose another player to reveal their hand, prevent them from playing anything out of it nor use cards of theirs already out in play, and so long as I have the "mana"/resources to do so, I can play cards out of their hands to use for myself. Hence why it's worth a decent amount of money + overall hated by many players...

Anyway, as I personally prefer to not get into posting some of the really good art onto the hub, I rather just talk about it here + feature any favorites, perhaps even edit this post to make a list along the way as for all kinds of control/corruption/steal-that-shit cards that come to mind.

Few of my favorites right away I'll point out happen to be the queen of vampires and literal lady boners look at the way she's barely holding her dress, as it looks like her hand's holding her knee, yet both feet are parallel: <<www.thebagofloot.com/wp-c...14/09/Olivia-Voldaren.jpg|Olivia Voldaren>>, <<65.media.tumblr.com/c2a1d...yvs0PX721thxsmlo1_500.jpg|Indomitable Archangel>> getting corrupted by the Phyrexians in this version of <<2.bp.blogspot.com/-cxm3al...yrexia%2BChris%2BRahn.jpg|Enslave>>, and one of my all-time favorite cards that I drew from a pack years ago and I was able to get signed by the artist, <<static1.squarespace.com/s...+of+Wills.jpg?format=500w|Beguiler of Wills>>.

Oh, and after bringing up indomitable archangel and enslave, how could I almost forget about <<67.media.tumblr.com/700cf...ine_n56ag7OguE1qbcdmp.jpg|Battlegrace Angel>> and the incredible artwork done for <<orig05.deviantart.net/1c4..._bolas_by_steveargyle.jpg|Slave of Bolas>>?! I wanna get a good playmat of that artwork someday...

<<gatherer.wizards.com/Page...aspx?name=word+of+command|Word of Command>> is best hypno card/art.

I've always had a fondness for <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=175011&type=card | Gather Specimens>>, partly because it gets around hexproof, but mostly for the flavor text~.

Anyway, if we're making a list, we mustn't overlook <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=238572&type=card | the obvious>>. =)

I got a print of Slave of Bolas from Steve Argyle when he came to a Grand Prix in my local area. Can't remember if it's signed or not, I put it & the others I purchased in a spare room until I could get them framed and promptly forgot about them ~___~

Had to think but <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...erseid=5745&type=card|Somnophore>> from Urza's Saga is definately a fav, so many players don't realise what he does until he taps down more than one dude, then they can't get him off the table fast enough. (Lightning Greaves helps a lot.)

Not sure if a glamour counts as hypnosis, but as a general MC card <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=140165&type=card|Sower of Temptation>> is also a fav. Apparently some of the card-alters are <<d30ce0f8e9hxxq.cloudfront...on.jpg?time=1435753876070|pretty interesting>> too >__>

Non-powerful cards like <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=152720&type=card|Stream of Unconsciousness>> should get a mention too for the general hypno feel they provide, even if in the game they're pretty useless.

Jeez, I've held this response off for so long. Kept trying to work on it, but always never had the chance to give the whole thing...

Saw it played once in an online EDH game; nobody could figure out how it was supposed to be played in the program. Such a clusterfuck O____o

For 6 mana's it's kind of a shit card, where you could just counter the creature instead for like 2 or 3. That or just use <<universegames.com/images/mtg/vis/desertion.jpg|Desertion>> to get same result, for once less mana. The best use of it instead would be to activate it against any huge token army-making cards, like <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=389483&type=card|Deploy to the Front>>, where you get all of those tokens under your control.

Yeah, was an obvious one indeed. Unfortunately, <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=413584&type=card|Control Magic>> is 1 less for the same exact effect, so it's clearly the better option out of MC and <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=193600&type=card|Domestication>>. That one though, I should probably make an alter based off a certain Stepford in the future... ;P

LUCKY >____<
My friend's been on a wait list for over a year to try and get an alter from him. Guy's so popular, which is clearly understandable...

It's eh. Reminds me a bit of <<www.mtgotraders.com/store...e3/Old_Man_of_the_Sea.jpg|Old Man of the Sea>>, where effect I can get behind, but art I just totally can't... ._____.

Same friend I mentioned's getting me a copy of Sower, which I wanna add to a potential <<magic.wizards.com/sites/m...eenoftheFae_1280x1024.jpg|Oona, Queen of the Fae>> tribal fairie deck I have in mind. Other than <<gatherer.wizards.com/Hand...seid=397839&type=card|Puppeteer Clique>>, <<media.wizards.com/2016/aksdjciawolkcc0_soi/en_UTUODTqXuh.png|Welcome to the Fold>> I think I can play for some fun MC effects with the potential for enabling madness.

I don't really see it, but eh. Art is indeed kinda nice.

Was wondering what the deal with that card was, turned out it's part of the Archenemy format, which I do plan on getting those "scheme" cards for. <<blogs.c.yimg.jp/res/blog-...2268355/img_15?1275989541|Here's another MC-related card for taking over single creatures>>, and <<magic.wizards.com/sites/m...rcana/519_plotsscheme.jpg|here's a promotional card I'm in love with for the art...>>

If anyone else has any interesting cards to throw out here, show em off. Always interested to see what there is. :3

Reins of Power is right at the intersection of evilly fun to use and incredibly interesting. It swaps control of all creatures between you and another player until the end of the current turn and then untaps them.

This means that if you're playing a creature-light deck (as I, a Blue main, often do), you can let them clear what little you have before snapping your fingers and having their own army stab them in the back. With one of the many cards that allow you to sacrifice creatures for an effect, you can then have the creatures happily off themselves up to it, damaging the opponent and robbing them of all their creatures in one spell. This delicious combo (specifically Altar of Dementia) is the win condition for my current favorite deck and everyone I play against hates it.
