Canonical inconsistencies you just can't comprehend
Hello everybody, some call me Salty, and today I'm here to post a question that HOPEFULLY won't violate any title-based rules, OR cause any petty arguments between content creators and the rest of us! Hahaha... Please don't cause more arguments... Anyways, time for the question! I'm assuming we all have characters we adore from certain games, tv shows, anime, etc. And obviously those characters are gonna get fanart drawn of them right? It's only natural. So let's say you're looking at fanart, and you see an inconsistency. Something that isn't canonically possible, or part of the character's design that's off somehow. I'm curious to know which ones of those set you off the most. Which pet peeve inconsistencies do YOU have?

My personal biggest one of these is when I see Lucina with huge tits. Lucina is perfectly fine being flat as a board god damnit.

Any time a character uses their power in a way it can't be used, any time a character acts to far out of character, any time an object from the show is given powers it doesn't cannonically have.

Just...look at my post history. I go off on this shit all the time.

I don't really get mad at a lot of inconsistencies in fanfics, specifically *because* they're fanfics.
I mean sure, it's kind of annoying when a character acts in a way that's a little OOC, or when something happens that can't canonically - but then again, every character in a fanfic is a second-hand interpretation. So is every power, everything about the setting...

As long as something isn't utterly proven impossible in-canon, I can fully understand why fanart would portray it a little differently than canon. Heck, even then it's defensible as long as the fanfic came before the point in the story when it was disproven.

The one pet peeve I do have is when characters behave utterly contrary to their canon personality with only "a really good poker face" as an explanation - and even then it's mostly looking at a specific genre of My Little Pony fanfic.

Everything else, it really helps to see it as separate. Of course there's going to be inconsistencies - it's not the official authors making the fanart. That's why it's called fanart.

Multiverse crossovers (well, the unexplained ones at any rate). They always do my head in. Just to give an example, <<hypnohub.net/pool/show/1209|vahn's little series>>; so Madoka, Index/Railgun, TLR and Disgaea apparently somehow overlap for the sake of having these characters as part of the same story.

Nevermind when the characters themselves aren't accurate, it's when the world itself is a hodgepodge that I just can't get into it.

My canonical inconsistencies tend to happen in the show itself!
Doctor Who, while being a show I love, has instances where they use the wrong TARDIS exterior for shots. For example they once used the 2005 Tardis Exterior to save River Song in the 2010 interior and it bugged me >~<

For some insane reason, someone kept uploading manips of Precure characters and kept describing them as Venusian. Like, people from Venus. For some weird reason. They even got their names right so they had to be familiar with the characters but for whatever reason they decided to claim they were aliens. Drove me nuts.

If I remember correctly that was probably part of that weird like 40 image invasion series, or whatever that was.

Not gonna lie, it was a damn good manip series. Only weird bit was how they did apparently change the literal species of characters from certain anime/manga/games

Could pass it off as possession or shapeshifting into appealing forms, maybe...

Actually, on the subject of canon, I'm a massive lore nerd so I basically consume information on games/stories I like. As such, I'm usually the first among my friends to call out inconsistencies, but usually I just laugh them off.

Asuna in SAO turning into generic girl.

Many good femdom doujins turning maledom out of sudden, without any reason.

My biggest Pet Peeve was in the original Beyblade, every single season of the anime would forget about concepts of the previous seasons, like they introduced 2 v 2 battles as a brand new concept over and over in the last 3 seasons and they redefined what bit beasts were and where they came from every season as well.
