Also true, but sometimes people can't for one reason or another, or just need someone to talk to RIGHT NOW. The hotlines are good for that. I used to volunteer for one, and if you ever need help, trust me- the people on the other end of that line most certainly do care and want to help. Don't be afraid to call if you need them, guys.

That was a dumb thing to say.You're right, sorry. I care about all you guys. I'm bad with expressing feelings.

But yes, this is an important thing, especially given the sensitive nature of the subject matter the site's content deals with. We've had breakdowns here before, and I think this is important.

Anyhow, obviously, I can't speak for Pinkanator, but wasn't that scare a while back? Unless there's been a development I haven't heard of, this seems rather, I dunno, patronizing? I'd say that, hey, Pink's a regular here, why not just make it a general resource thread? She'll see it regardless, and I'm sure there are plenty of other people who could use this sort of thing, but assume from the title that a thread like this doesn't involve them at all. Anyhow, like I said, can't speak for Pink, but I felt pretty patronized even though it wasn't even towards me.

There was a new thread posted a couple hours ago that was locked because of the new rules. It's on topic for the moment. A thread like this can be a good placeholder in lieu of letting people post their personal moments.

There was a little bit of a thing earlier today (I don't think as immediate as the last scare, but I don't know any of the details personally except for what was posted earlier) I'm completely fine with that sort of change to the thread and think that (or a similarly themed resource thread) would be something kinda useful to have around.
