Statistically speaking, the likelihood of any individual having their privacy breached is very low, unless they have performed activities to increase such risk. As such, I'm not too worried about my personal standing as far is this goes, and I certainly won't be buying a VPN, but I can see why this is a reasonably serious issue. Besides, there is still some chance that this will be shot down anyway.
