Now, below, I'll compile an unsorted list of the names from the old thread.

In Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, there are beings called Primals. Examples are Ifrit, Shiva, Garuda, etc. Sound familiar?

Well, in FFXIV, Primals are pretty much naturally destructive, and thus evil. They're beings that are, quite literally, aether energy (think: mana). In order to manifest, they need to absorb aether from other life, as the loose aether energies wandering around in the atmosphere is never enough for them. The more aether they absorb, the more powerful they become.

Well, here's the trick: they absorb energy through being worshipped. As such, they seek out worshipers; not all of them willing. They will subjugate anyone they can via. a process called "tempering", which rewrites their minds into that of absolute worship of that particular Primal. The only protection against tempering is to already be tempered by a stronger or another primal (not specified if strength actually matters), or protected by a higher power (the crystal(s) of light).

The effects are permanent, and the "tempered" mortals will find no greater purpose than to worship the corresponding Primal.

Sounds like this could be REALLY sexy if drawn or written about. :3

I fixed a couple things in the list. One, I have no idea why Scooby-Doo's "Ghost Clown" was labeled "Hypno-Clown". Two, Misaki Shokuhou was listed twice.

Rias Gremory (High School DxD) can rewrite human memories (which looks exactly like mind control when she uses it on Issei's parents). It's also basically stated that she isn't the only one who can do this, as it's apparently an inherent ability of fallen angels, and possibly devils as well.

If you want a name for the creepy guys from BaSingSei, they're called the DaiLi

Dark Samus can, at least in Metroid Prime 3, control those who become completely corrupted by Phazon.

Pretty much anyone in the Harry Potter universe who learns the Imperious curse.

There is also the worm king from Adventure Time, but he seems to use it mainly to get hugs. XD

Pinky and the Brain use various mind-control schemes during their show. Okay, The Brain comes up with them, but Pinky occasionally gets to use them, like when he gained super-charisma as Pinky Suavo.

From Star Wars Every Jedi ever has the Jedi Mind Trick, as do most sith and dark jedi. Also in the Clone Wars there were hypnotic coins and necklaces and mind controlling parasites.

Yami Yugi/Pharoah Atem (Magic, Happy_Trance)
Millennium Item user.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Can use Penalty Games after winning against his victim in a Shadow Game. His Shadow Games typically amplify the victim's most pronounced vices, then his Penalty Games typically cast illusions based on those vices, but he has killed.

Shadi (Magic, Corruption)
Millennium Item user.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Can use Penalty Games after winning against his victim in a Shadow Game.
Can enter and redecorate the room of a person's mind, manipulating and altering their mind freely.

Seto Kaiba (Kind've..., Tech Control)
In the original manga, Kaiba's Battle Boxes (small, glass-walled booths which could generate holograms inside) were originally created to emulate the illusions of Yami Yugi's Penalty Games to drive the victim insane, in addition to enhancing the experience of a Children's Card Game. It doesn't pan out, because Exodia.

Zorc Necrophades as Yami Bakura (Magic, Dollification)
Millennium Item user.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Can use Penalty Games after winning against his victim in a Shadow Game. Known to have used Mind Doll to seal victims into inanimate objects, but has killed.

Yugi Mutou as a Half-Elf Beast Tamer in the Monster World TTRPG (Magic, Corruption, Dual Persona)
A Shadow Game between Yami Yugi and Yami Bakura occurred with regular Yugi inside a figurine, due to Yami Bakura's Mind Doll. Yugi as his RPG character could conjure large, floating white-gloved hands to massage and tug at enemy NPCs to convert them into allied party members. This included pulling the real Ryo Bakura out of Yami Bakura's avatar.

Maximillion Pegasus (Magic)
Millennium Item user.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Can use Penalty Games after winning against his victim in a Shadow Game. Known to have used Soul Prison to seal a victim's soul into blank Duel Monsters cards.

Marik Ishtar (Magic, Possession)
Millennium Item user.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Can use Penalty Games after winning against his victim in a Shadow Game.
Can also directly mind control and possess them, by inserting a fragment of his consciousness in them.
While he's known mainly for the latter, he uses all three prolifically during his later appearances to great, mind-screwing effect.

Noah Kaiba (Tech Control, Possession)
In an anime-only arc, the main cast's minds were uploaded to a virtual world. Noah and the Big Five forced the main cast to bet their bodies in Duels, with the winners taking the bodies. Noah was in control of the body-swapping mechanism and was the primary villain behind the plan, going as far as to delete the Big Five when they violated his rules.

The Seal of the Orichalcos (Magic, Corruption)
Again in an anime-only arc, rather than being caused by any particular individual, an Duelist who uses The Seal of the Orichalcos card had the darker aspects of their personality amplified, which inevitably led to that character's downfall. In a Duel where it is used, the loser's soul was sacrificed. Though the power of the Seal could be suppressed, it could re-emerge and take the soul of a user by provoking the user's negative emotions. It is also a literal mind control device when used during a Duel, shown to be able to control cards with their own personalities against their will, such as the God cards who typically ignore, wound or kill unworthy users.

Zorc Necrophades (Magic, Corruption)
Zorc, an ancient embodiment of darkness, is shown to be able to thoroughly corrupt individuals with powerful and dark desires, moulding them to serve him unknowingly. Also, dragon penis.


Yu-Gi-Oh! R (manga)

The Wicked Gods (Magic, Corruption, Possession)
Counterparts to the Egyptian Gods, which Pegasus created in his fear of the latter. They were possessed by darkness and took on a will of their own.
Used Yako Tenma as their primary agent, who then at one point used his twin brother Gekko Tenma to masquerade as himself.
The Wicked Gods don't control any other characters, and as such aren't particularly known for mind control abilities. They primarily warp their bearer's personality, but Yako's control over Gekko was closer to possession, as Gekko was acting against his will.
They can, however, bring back dead people.


Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

Camula (Magic, Dollification)
A Shadow Rider, given shadow magic by Kagemaru.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games she plays.
Can transform losers of Duels against her into palm-sized, voodoo doll-like plushies, who remain self-aware. More body control, than mind control.

Titan (Magic)
A Shadow Rider, given shadow magic by Kagemaru.
Can use Shadow Games to inflict various conditions upon games he plays.
Known to have temporarily placed a character in a trance to transport them while they were unconscious.

The Light of Destruction, Sartorius, The Society of Light (Magic, Corruption)
An energy-based entity from out space.
Used Sartorius as a primary agent, infecting the majority of Duel Academy and enrolling them into The Society of Light during the second season.
Also caused Yubel to go berserk, causing the events of the third season.

SORA in the English dub (Tech Control)
A satellite cannon, owned by the small kingdom of Misgarth. The Light of Destruction attempted to fire it at the Earth.
Originally, it was just a satellite cannon. It would blow the Earth up. In the dub, they scripted it as a mind control cannon that would brainwash the population of Earth into joining the Society of Light.

Yubel (Magic, Possession, Corruption)
Driven insane by The Light of Destruction, Yubel is the ancient spirit of the ancient Prince-to-become-Supreme King Jaden's true love, reincarnated as a Duel Monster spirit.
Used Marcel Bonaparte and Jesse Anderson as her primary agents.
Can possess others, transform their physiology, and turn those she defeats (and those they defeat) into Duel Zombies, who Duel feverently and relentlessly to add to their ranks.
Also possesses a bevy of other powers, such as summoning real monsters, fusing them with humans, superhuman strength and telekinesis, being the first villain with as much out-of-Duel power in the GX series comparable to the Millennium Item users.

Brron, Mad King of the Dark World (Magic, Corruption)
Used the Wicked Rune cards to draw out the corresponding negative emotions from his victims. The victims were Jaden's friend, who turned against him and became despondent.

Nightshade (Magic, Corruption)
Featured in the fourth season of GX, unaired in English.
Similar to Zorc, but is an embodiment of darkness stirred up by the incidents at Duel Academy over the previous four seasons. Losers of Duels against it are drawn into the darkness and imprisoned in infinitely reoccurring visions representing their most powerful negative emotions and fears.
Used Yusuke Fujiwara as its primary agent.
Trueman/Mr. T were a portion of it. Yeah, multiple. Like, hundreds of this guy.
Atticus Rhodes could access a small portion of its power using a mask, which tried to corrupt him physically and mentally the longer he used it and the more weakened he was.


Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (manga)

Tragoedia (Magic, Possession)
An ancient spirit and Duel Monster, sealed away and hell bent on taking revenge for the massacre of its village.
Possessed Aster Phoenix' father, Reggie MacKenzie, David Rabb, Jim Crocodile Cook, Jesse Anderson, Axle Brodie and Atticus Rhodes.


Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

Sayer (Magic, Corruption)
A powerful Psychic Duelist and leader of the Arcadia Movement.
Attempted to brainwash the Psychic Duelist and Signer Akiza Izinski, able to turn her into a crazed and destructive loyal weapon using a trigger word.
Can manifest card attacks and use telekinesis.

Professor Frank
Hypnotised Luna in the middle of a Duel, in front of a massive stadium of spectators, then placed both her and himself into a trance which transported their consciousnesses to the Duel Monsters Spirit world. His presence eroded the world and he nearly got eaten by a dragon because he was too busy laughing maniacally.

King of the Netherworld/The Earthbound Immortals (Magic, Corruption)
Revived dying individuals with connections to the Signers, and used them as Dark Signers. While Dark Signers retain their own personality and will, this would be overridden by the Earthbound Immortals if it suited the destruction of the Signers.

Familiar of Red Nova (Magic, Possession)
It could manipulate dreams and possess its victims in order to release its master.


Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL

Numbers (Magic, Possession, Corruption)
Can possess and corrupt their holders, driving them to meet their goals regardless of the means and twisting their intent and personality. They sometimes bestow upon their holder various powers. The effects of this control can be resisted depending on the holder's willpower, or if they themselves have special powers. The possession may not have negative effects if the holder has no ill-intent.

Fortuno (Magic(?), Tech Control)
A Number Duelist who kidnapped Yuma's friends by hypnotising them. It's not clear if the hypnosis itself was magically induced using his Number, but afterwards he maintain the illusion of suspending them over a pit of lava by using holograms and augmented reality.

Vector (Magic, Possession)
Vector is a Barian with a manipulative streak, orchestrating events from the shadows. He possessed Dr. Faker during his Duel with Yuma, morphing his physiology to include demonic features and wings.

Barians using Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force (Magic, Corruption)
The Seven Barian Emperors can use Barian's Force to brainwash people into serving their purposes. Brainwashed individuals often say "For the sake of the Barian World", and either maintain a twisted version of their own personalities, or have their personality completely suppressed.

Aika Hanazoe
While under the control of a Barian, used the sound of flower cutting to hypnotise Yuma and his friends to sleep.

Astral (Magic, Possession)
Corrupted by extreme negative emotions brought about by Vector's manipulation, Astral went berserk and forced Yuma into the psychotic, self-destructive Dark ZEXAL transformation.

Vector with Don Thousand (Magic, Corruption)
Using the Barian God Don Thousand's power, Vector instantly revived two of his defeated, recovering allies and twisted their personalities almost beyond recognition, making them loyal to him (previously, they highly disliked Vector).

Semimaru (Magic)
A Barian with the ability to steal a person's memories. Took Yuma's friend's memories away to use them as bait. However, their emotions remained, causing them to lethargically and unconsciously cheer Yuma on at a critical moment.

Mosquito Ninja (Magic, Drug)
A Barian who can turn into a mosquito and inject his victims with a hallucinogen, the hallucinations generated by which he can control.

PSY Qualia and its users (Magic, Corruption)
A power possessed by chosen individuals. It can influence the cards a fighter puts in their deck and show the fighter premonitions of the fight they're playing. However, it can also cause them to become corrupt and power-crazed depending on their motivations, and allows them to pull their victims into the user's own visions, which can result in physical pain. Its main purpose is to link a fighter to the Clan their deck is composed of, influencing the actions of the actual Clan on the faraway Planet Cray as that Clan's Vanguard. For example, the twisted, power-hungry Ren Suzugamori led the Shadow Paladins into revolting, causing a civil war on Planet Cray.

Void/Reverse (Magic, Corruption, Possession)
An evil, reality-invading force that "Reverses" its victims in war, corrupting them by using their own desires to lure them in.
At first, attempted to invade Cray by sealing away the key cards of the previous series (and as such, the most powerful warriors on Cray), then manipulating, bribing and corrupting fighters on earth.
Later invaded Earth, brainwashing and corrupting ("Reversing") fighters and their key cards by defeating them, though the the Reverse can be undone by defeating the Reversed fighter. It also displays the ability to completely usurp an individual's body.

At least a few of those you mentioned don't sound like mind control at all. And a couple were mentioned already.

I'm aware Marik and Sartorius were mentioned. I'd agree my mentioning Marik was redundant, but I expanded on Sartorius. A few are body control and possession, and a good chunk involve illusions. Personally, I'd call illusions and mind screws to be close or borderline, because they involve an altered state of mind through outside means.

Only body control, only possession, only mind screws and only illusions or hallucination aren't strictly mind control as such, but if the context in which they're used is in order to induce an abnormal state of mind, or manipulate a target into taking specific actions which are beyond what they would normally consider, then it can feasibly be viewed as mind control. If this isn't the case for the site, then its a question of exactly where you draw the line between mind control and manipulation without strict mind control. I'd consider purely physical possession supplanting the host personality to be a case of the latter, but it's considered acceptable material for the site.

In any case, the characters listed and the explanations of their abilities and background are at most to serve as inspiration for material which may or may not be found or created, right? Personally, I wouldn't mind cases where the canon source would be considered borderline material, as the great and perverted minds of anyone who has or will create material based on that source, the inspiration for which was this list, are bound to take liberties in the context and/or presentation to bring it more in-line with the fetish, or so I'd assume.

Out of curiosity, which of those don't sound like mind control? I'll pre-empt you and agree that Kaiba's (failed) case and Camula definitely strictly aren't mind control, but are still usable as material... If you're into putting people in glass boxes and showing them holograms, or if you're into voodoo dolls. Personally, I don't know anyone who's into voodoo dolls, but I suppose there are more peculiar tastes out there.
